we don't like these two candidates, so it's not likely that we're going to roll over and ask either of them for some tenderness, or even to share the blanket.  "Just don't wake me" will be the average American response.  I know it's mine.

Whether it gives the two corporate-controlled parties greater or less leverage remains to be seen.  That's probably the more important question.  In one analysis, opportunities will exist for alternative ideologies to emerge, especially on the right, where the party leaders have largely sold out.  In another, Republican and Democrat party leaders will cynically determine that they could put Mickey Mouse on the ballot and still get at least 40% of the vote, minimum.  This is a real test.
