The issue is that this is somebody who does not understand World War II ... as having represented any sort of significant moral failing on Japan's part ... and that because of this the implications and end goals of his policy go far beyond anything that could reasonably be construed as merely defending Japan's legitimate interests.

That's along the lines of what I was thinking as well.

That's the third time I've seen that word.  I call bullsh**t.  The word doesn't exist.  I know that you think that if you use a word often enough it works its way into Mirriam-Webster, and you're right.  It does happen frequently--language evolves--but this is one "word" that I hope doesn't make it.  It's really, really stupid.  Please find a real noun that already exists.  There are several that I could suggest that might encompass the concept that you are looking for.  I'd suggest a few but I won't for several reasons, not the least of which is that I don't want to insult your intelligence with the implication that you need me to.
