Four bananas at a supermarket or two bananas at a convenience store.

Ten Double Bubble long or 15 Double Bubble regular pieces.

(Actually, that comes to $1.06 in Lancaster, but you get the idea.)

Sure you can.  You can get a small crusty sourdough bātard at Stauffer's.  Or for a dollar you can get a two hot dogs at that same establishment.  Nothing fancy, mind you.  Just a regular six-inch weenie between two buns, and your choice of mustard, mayonnaise, ketchup, or sweet pickle relish, but that's probably enough calorie to sustain you for a few hours.  From the machine in front of Wal-mart you could get two cans of coca-cola, or a bag of Skittles, or a Mars bar.  And of course, as has been mentioned, you could buy between two and four bananas, depending upon the store.  Or, while we're at it, a mango, or a third of a pound of purple grapes, or a fourth of a pound of white grapes, or a half of a pound of jalapeńos.

I'd pay a dollar for a good samosa.  There's an all-you-can-eat northern India place a couple of miles from there that does good samosas.  It's $8.99 for lunch, and they don't sell the samosas separately, but they do make the sorts of really good ones that I'd pay a dollar for.
