Mondays! It's also recycling day. It's actually not a huge ordeal, so long as we remember to do it Sunday evening (since they come around 5:00 in the morning). Initially I thought it was a big hassle. For the first 40 years of my life I'd never given any thought to the concept of a "trash day." When the trash was full I'd take it to the dumpster (or in a few buildings I've lived in, just put it outside my door), any day of the week, any time of the day or night, but when I was 40 we bought a house for the first time. There were so many things to get used to. I bought my first lawn mower, my first snow shovel, and my first Weed Eater. I also had to start remembering to roll the big container to the curb, along with the little green recycling bin, once every week. Now I'm used to it.
And yes I throw away stuff all the time that I later regret throwing away. But that was always true, even back back before there was a trash day.
