My hair dresser (an elderly woman who's a family friend for a long time) will come in about 1 hour to cut my hair.
I save ca. 5-10€ for each haircut because of this (usually she wants 10€, If I'd go to the shop it's 15-20€).
I'll cut my hair about every 2 months.
What about you ?
I get a haircut about twice per year. I pay seven dollars. There's a place not far from my house that has seven-dollar haircuts every Tuesday from 8 till noon, so when I do get it cut I make sure to go on a Tuesday morning. I think their regular price might be something like 12 dollars.
I started getting haircuts regularly about twelve years ago. Before that I hadn't had a haircut since high school. In some photos I have hair about 3 feet long, and in others I'm as bald as an eagle. I'd just let it grow and grow, then at some point I'd get tired of it and cut it with scissors and then when it was short enough, take some shaving cream and a razor and smooth it out. Did that all through college, grad school, and my post-doc years. At some point I started looking for proper jobs, so at that point I started going barber shops. I don't go to the places where they give you a cup of wine and a hand job while they cut your hair, but anyway they know what they're doing.
I think the last one I had was in August, and it's probably getting to be about time for another one.
