He has a good potential to be a dark horse who could beat the likes of Gillibrand or Castro. Just look at his social media numbers when he announced.

Yeah, he has almost twice as many views on his video despite being in for 12 hours compared to Gillibrand who announced last week and has had countless interviews.

He's the only major candidate running with no known negatives.

I'd love that to be true but let's be realistic, it's probably too early for a gay candidate and (at least in 2020) too late for a white male candidate.

To hell with that... this is a time for change. If Pete can show that he can be a bold leader for America then I don't think it will matter as much as we think in the campaign. He's smart, he's arguably qualified, and I think he can get young people excited about him. And if right now is too early for a white male gay candidate, how did Sharice Davids win KS-3 by nearly 10 this year? How did Polis win Colorado by 11? Stop making people's identities an issue and focus on their qualifications.

As a 6 year mayor who turned South Bend around, a Rhodes Scholar, an Afghan vet, a Ted Kennedy intern... he seems qualified to me. He’s got big ideas and is a very fresh addition to this primary. Rhetorically, I don’t see how he’s any different from the three term Congressman everyone’s gushing over. I think if Beto and Bernie stay out (that’s a big IF) then Pete will have a big hole to fill.

Watch him.
