In a wave election, the Dems don't have to outright win TX, they have to play the expectations game, and come close enough, so that statewide Dems in the close Senate races: AZ, GA, NC, and TX, deep red states, come close enough to flip the Senate back to the Dems.

With a 304-234, victory map, certain red state senate races can flip.

So his approvals went up after his latest idiotic racism and Epstein scandals?

Clinton and Gore had high favorability; however, the ethics was the underlying issue, Trump not only has impeachment over his head, but legal issues once he leaves office as private citizen Trump. With no executive privilege

Disastrous polls for Trump and GOP. Once the House retirements happened, the Senate became up for grabs

Cautionary note with these Trumpian approvals, Dubya won with 47% of the vote and was under 50%. If  2000, 2004 and 2016 taught us, voters like Dems initiatives, but too much spending on social programs is not very good either. At the time record number of voters are filing for disability benefits, Dems want to increase spending on Medicare

These polls does reaffirm the results that we saw in NC-9, the rural and urban divide. That we all saw in 2016, that although the country, urban American see Trump as not doing enough, and rural America, whites have benefited from the tax cuts; suburbs and farmers have done well. NC-9 had that suburban and rural divide and Bishop won.

But, urban American rejects Trump and his corruption

SN loves to compare Obama's approvals in 2011 and Trump approvals in 2019. Obama had 10% unemployment and Trump has 4% unemployment, but his corruption has lead him to 43% approval rating

Rassy polls does show Trump at 51-47% approvals, but 43% say country is headed in right direction
