Obama want there to be a strong Democatic party. But, Biden did an excellent speech on what went wrong in 2016 which cost Dems a SCOTUS vacancy.

Dems may not have another shot for Kennedy's seat, and they must secure the presidency in 2020 to do that.  But, Obama is trying to mend fenses.
