This is a nice little late present to me in the last hour of my birthday. The gift of schadenfreude is always welcome.

Happy Birthday!

Much appreciated, OSR. It's amazing how little things can ease the pain of turning 31.

And to your point with Giuliani, it's some rich irony for him to be indicted under RICO after using that law for his mafia prosecutions.

Trump this morning V

Quote
I easily won the Great State of Georgia in 2016, did a fantastic job, as President, for Georgia and the entire USA, received 10 Million more votes than I got, nationwide, in 2016, got by far the most votes in history for a sitting President, but shockingly,  “LOST” Georgia. All this despite winning nearby Alabama and South Carolina in Record Setting Landslides. Why did Georgia officials agree to, and sign, the one sided Consent Decree? Does anybody really believe I lost Georgia? I DON’T!

Actually, yes I do 🙋

lol

Yeah, because that's how elections work!

By that logic Biden should have won Utah because he won Colorado by a record margin. And even then, Alabama and South Carolina still lightly swung to Biden in 2020.

Why the f*** am I wasting my time writing this...?

How will this compare to the OJ Simpson trial? Will Trump get the best ratings again?

How is it possible for his actual mugshot to be worse than the AI generated/photoshops?

The comparison between Trump and Dr. King could not be more tasteless-especially given Georgia's history. One was arrested protesting for civil/voting rights, the other for getting caught red-handed in attempting to subvert the will of Georgia's voters.

Trump's attorney slips, speaks truth for a moment,

Quote
"Elected officials have to do what's popular and sometimes not what's right and that's a problem. That's why I think people get nervous with Trump. He doesn't do what's popular or what's right."

For all the talk of how Trump is his own worst enemy because of his mouth and how his attorneys try to keep him quiet, it seems like they also need to heed their own advice.

Can we just appreciate for a minute how great Chesebro's name is? It's literally pronounced "cheese-bro."

I hate to break this to you...but it's not.  He pronounces it "Chez-bro".

Sure, but a lot of news coverage pronounces it the more hilarious way, and I appreciate that.

Wait, a 34-year old is presiding over the case that could imprison Trump?

I sure feel old now.

Although this guy certainly does not look 34.

I'm three years younger than him, and I appreciate that he makes me look like I'm aging like Paul Rudd in comparison.

This needs to be over before the election.

So it looks like it's all up to Chutkan to deliver a meaningful conviction before next November.

If that date held and it's with a 10+ codefendants it could last through the election I imagine. Televised.

They should stick to June and get it done before the election.

The issue is the Classified doc trials will likely be going on then .

That one's probably getting pushed back.

Can anyone explain why committing lots and lots of crimes in many different state entitles a defendant to delay facing justice for them?

Because our judicial system is f***ed, and has been for decades.

This entire thing has been a mess for MAGA. Every time they try and have one of these hearings, it seems to backfire on them even further.

Republicans are so bad at trying to will their conspiracies into existence.

Trump is trying to run out the clock. All these moves are desperation moves because the evidence is clear, they have Trump dead to rights.

Unfortunately they're working.

That was the point, and yet again they succeeded.

Legal experts on CNN now say the trial will not happen before the election.

This was kind of expected, wasn't it? Even if the trial wasn't delayed from this. It was always going to run into 2025.
