I really can't imagine Obergefell being overturned, even by this court. That would really open up Pandora's box if same-sex couples couldn't get married anymore in certain states. The electoral backlash would be real in this case as well as a potential increase in support for court-packing and a decline in the popularity of the nation's highest court even more. More Americans are likely to care more about gay rights than abortion rights. It's the one culture war issue the right has truly lost on and where the American public has progressed, and I guess I was stupid to ever think that the right would ever accept that.

But the other rulings are, and always were, going to be overturned in time. This f***er just needs to be patient.

600k died and there was barely an electoral backlash, I highly doubt there realistically would here. Unfortunately most voters simply don't care about anything they aren't personally going through.

Right, but the thing is that LGBTQ+ issues do affect people more than something like abortion rights would, as far as they see it. It would at least keep Democratic turnout up.
