I am growing really weary of hearing this counter to every homophobic action. It's getting really trite and I think we can do better.
People full of hate toward others usually hate something about themselves.
Of course.. I know the basis for it. Everyone does. I just see something hypocritical in ascribing someone's behavior to a sexuality. It's lazy and doesn't do anything positive for anyone. Obviously these homophobic attitudes are rooted in something that should be examined and ripped to shreds. If you aren't going to do that, don't default to assuming anything about them like they do to us. We're better than that.
