I doubt Mitt Romney could win the state of Michigan in 2008, if he is the Republican's nominee. However, if Romney was nominated he could make it closer than any other Republican nomination, that basis on that his father George Romney, was Governor of Michigan from 1963-1969. But, I seriously doubt that his father being the Governor of the state some 40 years ago will have an impact on how Michigan will vote in 2008.
