Dream scenario is Boris becomes leader, flood of MPs leave the party, vote no confidence in government, we all get a Labour gov for Christmas

So yesterday I joked about Boris becoming PM again and that leading to a split in the party that ultimately leads to a Labour government by Christmas, but... guys I was only joking I didn't think you were actually gonna do it!

Can't get over this, picking Boris now would be a comically bad decision, I can't believe it's something the Tories might actually do. I don't even think I want that to happen in reality, there's only so much chaos the country can take and I think I'd prefer Sunak calm things down a bit before Labour take over.

The guy also clearly hasn't changed, he's been sunning himself in the Caribbean when he should have been at work.

Okay so feels increasingly like Boris isn't gonna get to 100 nominations and I'm a little relieved

Patel's endorsement was Priti bad news for Boris. Then, as if things weren't Badenoch, he lost Kemi too. And now, if Suella also drops him... well, even a Braverman than him ought to be worried.

(I'll show myself out)

Please don't boris with these terrible puns.  All of this will be over sunak or later.

There are still many Mordaunting challenges ahead, though.

I think thats enough puns now, this could Gove on forever

102? Okay sure.

So Sunak is pretty much 100% gonna be PM tomorrow?

This is the best decision the Tory party could have made at this point, I expect Rishi will make the next election closer than anyone else.

The question is only whether he lasts to 2024. I guess they can't put in another guy before holding an election now.

I don't think he'll do anything too crazy, Truss already crashed the pound and it's not like the polling can get much worse. So yeah I expect him to last until the next election.

(Although I just remembered I said the same thing about Truss lasting until the next election)

https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-63503932

Sir Graham Brady confirmed that Boris had the backing he needed to run for the Tory leadership, but just chose not to run.

If Brady says he had the numbers then he did, but I do think something else happened that is being kept behind closed doors. I have a very hard time believing that Boris just decided not to run.

Somebody must've made it clear to him that him winning the leadership would just lead to Keir Starmer becoming PM by the end of the year.
