Quote
The Dixiecrats were not happy, no not at all. Richard Nixon was out there meeting with Martin Luther King and supporting the Civil Rights Act, promising he'd put a black man in the cabinet and pass all sorts of reforms. Jack was on board with Civil Rights too, and Dixiecrats knew that well. But perhaps a Southerner could put them back at ease, maybe Johnson would have to do. Or else they could face another third party run.

"Hey Bobby what'd you make of it?" Jack said with a big grin as he finally stepped offstage after waving and acknowledging the great applause. Robert Kennedy smiled back, "Great Jack great, they love you."

Bobby was strongly against the picking of Johnson, even after the Civil Rights act of 1957, which Johnson led through congress, Bobby wanted to pick Walter Reuther to be Jack's VP the President o f the UAW and one of the best political minds of Organized labor.

Do ya'll have any questions about what's happened in the alternate 1960-1973?

Anything, Sports, Politics, foreign events, and so on?

I can tell you that the Mets saved Seaver for Game 7 of the 1973 World Series and won the game.

Who won the 1967 and 1968 world series?

Cards Smiley Tigers

Fixed that for y'all, but in all seriousness, it's crazy to think about how the Tigers weren't able to win a WS in this timeline with Mickey Lolich, Norm Cash, Willie Horton, Al Kaline, and Denny McLain. Denny McLain in 1968 had probably the best pitching season in the last 100 years imo, He went 31-6 with a 1.96 ERA in over 300 innings pitched plus 280 strikeouts en route to win the AL MVP. The late 60's Tigers teams had some crazy stats. Shame they only won 1 ring and in this timeline none.

With Glenn winning I'm very interested in how left the Republicans choose to go, will they go more left or try running to the center, or will they try to return to their right-wing roots, though that seems implausible since the Democrats have taken that spot. Also any updates on what Hillary Rodham is doing, it's been since the 1960's when we last heard of her. Also I probably missed it, but what exactly happened with the Iran Hostage Crisis? Did it not occur?

Hillary will appear again within the next three posts or so

It didn't occur for a variety of reasons which start with the death of Ruhollah Khomeini in 1974.

Hilldawg for Governor of Arkansas?

She's an Illinois girl married to an Illinois boy. She's not leaving Illinois.

Rodham/Blagojevich ticket for Illinois?

Ahhh sweet beautiful double corruption

I think she could even become Hillary Blagojevich haha, Dave said that she got married so I am assume she will not be Hillary Rodham.
