Scenario: Confederate States win Independence and take Kentucky and Missouri as well Indian and Nex Mexico Territories in peace treat
Background:
In 1879, the only rival to the
Confederate party, the
Freedom party, had fallen apart and thus 1879 was almost like 1824 in the Union. In the end, however, Former Tennessee Governor, Isham G. Harris became the Nation's 3rd President with 76 Electoral Votes while his two opponents, General Samuel J. Huntington would win 33 Electoral Votes and Louis Wigfall of Texas would win 18 Electoral Votes. Harris, however, lost the popular vote to Huntington and thus the Confederate Party slowly fell apart into three parties, though eventually it would be a two party system by 1897.
The
Constitutional Party was founded by former US Vice President, Former Confederate general and Secretary of War, and Harris' Secretary of State John C. Breckenridge. Created in 1883, this party has one simple goal: Obey the Confederate Constitution and defend to the best of their ability, though there were plans to make a few changes. In the 1885 Elections, they won 76 of the 116 seats in the CS house of Representatives. They are considered the moderates.
The
True Equality Party was founded by former Presidential Candidate and war hero Samuel J. Huntington in 1881 as a response for the Electoral Vote rejection he had in 1879. This party would morph into the Centralist Party in 1891. As of 1885, they had two simple goals: Centralize the country via the Constitution and begin preparation for Civil Rights. They won 25 seats in the 1885 Elections. Considered to be the Leftists and Liberals of the CS.
The
Reactionist Party was founded by Nathan Bedford Forrest in 1884 from the remaining fragments of the Confederate Party that had not joined the Constitutional Party or the True Equality Party. This party would die off in the next presidential election simply because they were too extreme right for the country. They believe in the supremacy of the White man and that every other race, including Native American allies in the Sequoyah and Pueblo territories. They would only win 15 seats in 1885.
