This is the longest three days I've ever seen Tongue

I'm also busy with university work. That's why.

It's not the actual amount of time it's taking that I noticed; it's the sheer amount of content in the convention: "Day 1 Part 11", "Day 2 Part 9". Most people have their conventions in one or two posts. Tongue

But they are not as detailed then. I like those from UWS as he fully posts the important Speeches of the Convention.

For example I'm looking forward to the Speech of President Rubio's Wife Jeanette. I'm guessing she will be introduced by her Daughter Amanda Rubio.

True, but it's best to post maybe 5-10 important speeches, and from that, a few good excerpts. This TL is great, but this convention has been going on for way too long, IMO. The campaign and the election are the parts that are most interesting Tongue

You have any doubt that Rubio will absolutely crush Sanders? I have not. Barring an unforseen National Disaster Rubio could get close to 60% of the National Vote and clobber Sanders electorally similar what Roland Reagan did to Jimmy Carter in 1980.

I'm talking about TLs in general.

I kinda agree. Not this many people show up at conventions. Only a few dozen per day, not almost 20 people.

While it is odd that 2016 posted that little tidbit, I prefer "Innocent until Proven Guilty" right now so can we all just wait until a Mod looks at this faithfully and fairly?

I had a feeling this was gonna happen again.

That's not what you think. You know, as you can see by clicking on the link below, I have myself made posts in New Tennessean Politician's timeline titled The Bi-Partisan Era of Politics because he asked me to do it for speeches. So we are all different persons

https://uselectionatlas.org/FORUM/index.php?topic=287945.0
And this is proof you are different people how?

I have to support UWS on the whole non sock thing. It really seems unlikely that UWS would try sock accounts again especially when his temp ban on E&H games thread is done by now. He has served his time and I have a really tough time believing he would try that sh**te again

If you really think 2016 is a sock, ask the mods for an IP check.

Agreed, don't make mindless acusations unless you have evidence to back it up

Can you guys stop? Yeah, this is a little weird, but it's clear that UWS puts a lot of time and effort into his TL, and it's really rude to fill up his project with stupid insults.

THANK YOU FOR SPEAKING COMMON SENSE!

If I can, so far, I'm going to post potential Democratic Candidates for 2024 as no Republican would Challenge Nikki Haley if she runs. If she doesn't, I have my own list.

Democrats:

Senator Cory Booker (NJ)
Senator Tim Kaine (VA)
Senator Kamala Harris (CA)
Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (NY)
Fmr Governor John Hickenlooper (CO)
Senator Elizabeth Warren (MA)
Senator Chris Murphy (CT)
Representative Tulsi Gabbard (HI)

Republicans (only if Haley doesn't run) :

Senator Bill Haslam (TN)
Governor Charlie Baker (MA)
Senator John Kasich (OH)
Governor Ed Gillespie (VA)
Governor Scott Walker (WI)

Why would Gillibrand, Warren, Hickenlooper or Gabbard run again after they got creamed in the 2020 Primaries? They didn't even make it to the Top 3. Gabbard may run for Senate once Hirono retires.

The most likely Republican Candidates who will run in case Haley doesn't would be Paul Hogan, Charlie Baker and Mary Taylor (all 3 term-limited in 2022) but why wouldn't Haley run. She can make History. Do you know how old John Kasich or Ed Gillespie would be in 2024? Too old IMO to run.

I predict a POTUS Race between Haley and Harris in 2024.

For the Dems, they may have gotten creamed in the Primaries but as we saw in 1988, 1996, 2008, and 2012, if you still have influence within the party, you can still run. They probably do and thus would probably run.

For the GOP, it's hypothetical.

Shouldn't the 2022 Midterms rush by now?

Knowing several states, I have some suggestions for them:

Possible GOP Losses

Alabama: Terri Sewell
Georgia: Stacey Abrams
Illinois: Michelle Obama
Indiana: Lloyd Winnecke
Missouri: Jay Nixon
New Hampshire: Ann McLane Kuster
North Carolina: G. K. Butterfield
Ohio: Tim Ryan
Pennsylvania: Dwight Evans

Possible DEM Losses:

Connecticut: Jodi Rell
Maryland: Larry Hogan
New York: George Pataki (NOTE: Only if Schumer retires and Chelsea is the Dem Candidate. If it's Kennedy, it's a loss for the GOP)
Oregon: Greg Walden
Washington: Jaime Herrera Beutler

All in all, I expect the Senate Composition to possibly look like this: 66-34; 65-35 if Schumer doesn't retire/Kennedy is the Dem Nominee

Haha smarmy Greg Walden won't win my home state...right?

Guy has survived the 2006 and 2008 Waves and most likely might survive the 2018 wave OTL, so it wouldn't hurt to assume he could win in a Senate race, especially considering the apparent Rightward shift of OR ITTL

Knute Buehler or Gordon Smith are better fits for the state imo

Smith, whom was a previous Senator did run...and he lost and I don't think he would be interested in going back to the Senate after being out for 14 years by this time. Knute Buehler, who I never heard of before you mentioned him, is debatable as, if he lost ITTL, the GOP in Oregon won't risk him becoming another Dino Rossi and instead choose Greg Walden and if he won ITTL, why wouldn't he wait to be Governor for two terms then run for Senator? Walden is the only one that makes at least some sense, TBH.

I made a TVTropes Page for this Timeline because I do think it deserves it. https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Literature/IowaisRubioCountry

I'm not going to look through all 57 pages for examples of tropes but I think there are plenty of them in Timelines. If UWS requests it to go down though, I'll delete the page. Also, please, no trolling.

I'd support Baker over Haley in the R Primary but if Haley wins the Nomination, I'd probably vote Kamala or Kennedy (Even if I wouldn't feel well afterwards) if this actually happened.

Why do you dislike Establishment Republicans so much

I have plenty of reason (I almost wrote an entire essay on why but I decided you didn't need to deal with it), but it really boils down to the Establishment's Free Trade Policies that damaged the middle class, the belief that we should be the World's Police Force when I believe its time we focus inward once again (We've been focusing outside of the US since WW2. It's time we focus internally for a change), and so many other things that would take me hours to list. I know you will never get what I mean and I respect your opinion for that and I won't try and convince you otherwise, but don't think you can convert me to support Neocons like the Bushes, Reagan, Rubio, Haley, or otherwise. It's not happening. ever. Understand?

EDIT : Apologies if I seem a bit like a jerk in this post. I've been stressed due to things happening in my private life as well as writing my book. There's a reason why I don't post much on forums any more and it mainly has to do with my emotions.

My thoughts on this timeline:

But seriously please take it out of its misery. This is borderline inhumane, it’s suffering so much.

UWS has put in arguably more effort and hard work making this TL than arguably anyone ever has for a TL, so you guys should really stop insulting UWS by making posts like this.

If you dont like the TL he has made you dont have to read it, but many of us on here do like this TL and appreciate all the hard work UWS has put into it

They only hate it because it has a clear Republican bias, which 95% of Atlas has...in favor of the Democrats, so..., yeah. It's sad but not unexpected.
