Hello, citizens of the South!

It was almost 2 years ago now that I first entered the Atlasian political scene.

After much consideration, I am glad to announce my candidacy for the Southern Chamber of Delegates under the Labor Party!

Since then, I've reached from the CoD, to the House, to Party Leadership and the Presidency. After several months of being a perennial candidate, I'm back to business! I promise you all that I am here as a new Weatherboy. I already have one bill ready to be introduced should you elect me. Meanwhile, I am researching new ideas for legislation. If I do not meet these expectations, I will not run for re-election, because then I will have failed you.

I'm running as a pragmatic, left-leaning independent. Being part of my own party, I will promise you that I will not tow any party's line specifically, and only vote with my conscience.

Although I find the Atlasian Future Party's priorities to be important, I also believe that they are better addressed by the Federal Government than Regional ones.

My main goal, however, will be to ensure that quality public transportation is accessible to every Southerner. I am calling for bus lines in cities with over 50,000 inhabitants, reaching out to suburbs, especially those that are worse off.

Several areas, including my own home area of Greenville, may have some transport but are extremely lacking in some areas. These people, who are predominantly poor, and predominantly people of color, oftentimes have no way to get around. They are unable to get jobs because they simply can't get to a place of work outside of walking distance. Those with disabilities, like my mother, who suffers from seizures, are unable to get around.

Public transportation helps lift people out of poverty, stimulates economic growth, and is much more environmentally friendly than other methods of transport. If we can get these systems in place, the vast majority of those in the South will be better off.

I am reaching out to experts on the issue on how to make this system also work as efficiently as possible, so that valuable taxpayer dollars are not wasted.

Thank you all for listening, and I hope I can count on your support.

Thank you all for your support so far!

To clarify, my activity goals are to introduce, at a minimum, 5 bills. I also promise to vote on every single bill barring a leave of absence. I realized earlier that I should have specified this.

I think even the goal of introducing 5 bills in a low bar, but considering I introduced a grand total of 0 bills during my time as Representative, it's a good start to show that I've changed.

A very important question has come up the past couple of days for me, and after much thinking I've decided to put this to the people.

In short, I have been asked to be the running mate on a potential presidential ticket. I do wish to join this ticket, but I also don't want to seem as if I am abandoning the Southern People. Even though I love all of you (except Ben Kenobi he can go [REDACTED]) I think that deciding to join this ticket would seem as if I'm not dedicated to you. So, I've decided to ask you all: If I decide to join the ticket, should I drop out of the race for Delegate?

I'm restricting this to Southern Citizens only. I will follow the people's will on this issue, should I decide to join the ticket. https://forms.gle/1bLTFgSxjTGvjLr76

I'm going to have one more day to collect responses from Southern Citizens (I've deleted 3 responses by N/A, N/A, and S019 since they aren't in the south)

Please let your voice be heard!

Well, I'm no longer accepting responses, as I believe there has been more than enough time to make your voices heard. An overwhelming 85% of respondents believe that I should stay in the race if I accept a VP slot. I will follow the people's wishes. Thank you all for making your voices heard, and if you have any questions about my campaign be free to ask!

The following events have been rescheduled:

Rally in Macon, GA has been moved to 1/18

Rally in Atlanta, GA has been moved to 1/19
Town Hall in Anderson, SC has been moved to 1/19

and an election night rally will be held in Greenville (or potentially one of the suburbs of Greenville, this is still being figured out) before the polls close.

Quote from: Excerpt from speech at WB/WM Joint Rally in Spartanburg, SC
Thank you, everyone! I just want to thank West_Midlander for agreeing to come together and rally for continued southern progress. This region has taken great strides these past few months, and we need to make sure that this progress is not undone! We need to make sure that we keep the south moving into the future! We need to make sure that all citizens of the south can live a long, happy, prosperous life! I believe the only way we can make sure that this progress continues unabated is to elect West_Midlander for governor, and myself for Delegate. We can't let this region slip backwards. Thank you all!

WB enjoys lunch at a local diner after arriving in his hometown near Greenville

Quote from: WB Campaign Statement, 1/21/20
Our team has just returned from our Great Southern Tour, where I was able to speak to a multitude of differing voices throughout the south. I feel like this tour has been a great success, but now we must focus on the final days of the campaign, as they are swift approaching. Our campaign will begin extensive GOTV operations in the Greenville area tomorrow, ending on Sunday. I have pledged to knock on every single door in my hometown of a little over 5,000 people, as well as anywhere else I can. Our election night rally will be in my hometown, though we are still discussing the location. This is the most important week of the campaign, so let's make it count!

Pictures taken by Weatherboy while knocking on doors around his hometown

Tonight is your last chance to vote, everyone! I finally knocked on the last couple of doors in my hometown today, and I am confident that we can win.

I just want to also speak about how important this campaign is. I believe that I can deliver on public transportation, and I fully support the efforts of the Traffic Solutions for Dixie group. We need to bring the South into a new era. Public transportation may not sound like the way to do this, but it almost certainly is. It's cleaner, cheaper, and helps stimulate economic growth far better than any cars do. Studies show, time and time again, that poverty decreases and economic output rises around areas with public transportation. We can't let this issue go unsolved any longer.

Vote Weatherboy, for A Bright Future Forward.

Well folks, it looks like we were narrowly edged out. But I'm proud of the work we've done on this campaign, and I have already contacted Governor-Elect West_Midlander to be in consideration for the appointment to their seat in the chamber.

However, I have a much bigger announcement for everyone here...
