With possible exceptions of TN (which we all heard about already) and maybe MT, none of these seem too far off the mark...but it is true that they blew most of the state polling in 2004 (although the states they blew it in were very close anyway).

So they didn't poll Maryland? That sucks.

Just as a reminder, the final Gallup polls for 2004...

FL:  Kerry 50, Bush 47
IA:  Bush 48, Bush 46
MN:  Kerry 52, Bush 44
OH:  Kerry 50, Bush 46
PA:  Bush 50, Kerry 46
WI:  Bush 52, Kerry 44

Wow...even worse than I had remembered. The WI one is quite pathetic. Zogby-like even.

I think OH and PA are the worst.  I mean, no one expects anyone except for M-D to poll Florida correctly, so a bad result is ok there and Wisconsin is about as difficult, but outside MOE with wrong winner in two "very easy-to-poll states" like OH and PA.  Pathetic.

Hey, maybe they'll do better this year...

I hope so.
