Even though the hurricane shouldn't have much of an impact on the physical convention itself, the coverage of it during the week is certainly going to distract from it, especially if it slams into the Gulf as a Category 2 or 3.

I'm kinda doubting that will happen.

What are you thinking? Accuweather seems bullish on it at least being a Cat. 2 when it hits but I see many others have it as a Cat. 1.

Hold on, if the Romney speech is on Monday, are the networks not covering it then?

It won't be on Monday. He'll be officially nominated Monday but he'll still speak on Thursday night.

The Hurricane is going to hit Tuesday night. That's the day they should have taken off.

Monday, however, is when the effects over Tampa Bay will be worst.

I'd  still rather have it then as opposed to having it when a cat 2 (or maybe cat 3 according to FOX news) is making landfall.

There's definitely a lot of chatter about it ending up stronger than had been initially expected.

It'll most likely be either a tropical storm or a cat 1.

Where are you getting your information from? Because I can't find any weather agencies who are projecting that. Everyone is saying it'll likely be at least a Category 2 when it makes landfall.

Disgusting.

Oh god, are each of the states going to give themselves these awful introductions?

At least Arkansas and DC opted not to do that.
