Well, what all do I have to do to be commissioner, and how do I become commissioner?

Would anybody else object to moving the draft from the 28th to the 29th?  I'm going to be up north on the 28th, and don't think I'll make it back to a computer by draft time.

If people object, we can keep it the same, but I'd appreciate it if we could move it to the 29th.

I have a speech tournament on the 28th, so we should move it to the 29th.  Also, can I get a link to our current site?  Thanks.

No Jews allowed.  My 1st rule as commissioner.  Tongue

On a more serious note - if there's no objections by tomorrow, I'll be moving the draft date to the 29th.

EDIT: Tomorrow meaning later today (for those in the Eastern time zone) - tomorrow meaning Monday (I hadn't realized how late at night it was).

Also, here's the custom URL to get on: http://baseball.fantasysports.yahoo.com/league/atlas_forum_league

I don't know why, but it wouldn't let me keep atlasforumleague - I don't know if it was the commissioner change or what.

Still looking fellas.

We would like 5 or 7 more players.  Sign up.

Do you have a list of last year's players?  If so, we could PM them and ask.  I remember Jake and I think States Rights were 2 of them.

Just a warning: I have family in town (which I didn't know about), so I may not be able to make the draft tonight.

You can pre-rank your picks, otherwise Yahoo picks for you.

Wow... we go from being worried about having enough people to make it interesting, to having the most teams we have ever had... in about two days.

And in doing so, I discovered something about the forum administrative settings: you can only send 20 PMs in 1 hours.

Can someone give me a quick paragraph on how fantasy baseball works?  I've done football plenty of times, but never baseball.

Each week, you match up against another participant (at least in our method of playing, head-to-head).  There are 13 stats you're scored on:

Batting: Runs, Hits, Homers, RBI, Stolen Bases, Errors (so you wan't the low number for that one), and OBP (On-base Percentage)

Pitching: Wins, Losses (again you want the low score), Saves (only for relief pitchers), Strikeouts, Earned run average (want low number), and Walks plus Hits per Inning Pitched (low number).

At the end of the normal part of the season, you're ranked on how many times you won/lost each category.  The top 6 participants advance to the playoff brackets, where you play another member.  The person with the most categories won advances.

Sam - I've gone 4 straight weeks undefeated.  If you screw up my record now, I'm going to be pretty pissed off.  Tongue

Get a week off to reevaluate the roster for the stretch run.

Same here.

Good luck to all!

Well, I think it's safe to say...Congratulations to Sam.  The dynasty does continue indeed.
