They fly a lot more than most people, and in smaller planes than most people.  It's simple statistics.

That was an exception to the general trend.  Stevens, JFK Jr., Paul Wellstone, Mel Carnahan, Nick Begich (Mark Begich's father) all died in small plane plane crashes.
