Clinton campaign press release so far:

"Fundraising - We expect to bring in about what we did in the First Quarter, or slightly more, which should put us in the range of $27 million.  To put that figure in some perspective, it is more than any Democrat has ever raised in the second quarter of the "off" year.  While that figure is record setting, we do expect Senator Obama to significantly outraise us this quarter."

From John Edwards:

"Dear Friend,

WE DID IT!

At 8:51 p.m. a $10 dollar contribution from Janet, of Clayton, Indiana put us over the $9 million dollar mark for the second quarter."

I was expecting about 30-35 Mio. for Obama in the last quarter. I mean he got 26 Mio. in the first from 105.000 Donors and now he got 150.000 donors in the second. He could get up to 35 Mio. $ (a bit unrealistic, but possible if the average amount of a donation stays the same in the 2nd quarter).

Sidefact:

The Democratic Candidates seem to again have outraised the GOP candidates by 60%-40%, or better said 80 Mio. $ to about 50 Mio. $ in the second quarter, which I find a healthy sign. Smiley

Mitt Romney raised $14 million from April through June for his Republican presidential campaign and tapped his personal wealth for a $6.5 million loan.

Romney’s fundraising fell short of his first quarter, when he raised $20.6 million and lent himself $2.35 million.

The campaign reported that it increased its number of donors from 32,000 in the first quarter to 80,000 for the first six months of the year.

Romney aides said he had $12 million cash on hand, equal to the amount he had in the bank at the end of the first quarter. The
figures place Romney solidly ahead of rival John McCain, who reported $11.2 million raised during the period and $2 million cash on hand. McCain reported having 72,000 donors overall.

Romney’s other leading rival for the GOP nomination, Rudy Giuliani, had not reported his second quarter totals.
