There are not more than 3 tornadoes in Austria every year, but the area surrounding Vienna is a lot like the US Plains, so they can happen there.

In 1916 though, there was a tornado south of Vienna which killed 32 people.

Yesterday, a super-cell formed during a massive hail- and thunderstorm, about 2 miles away from the Vienna Schwechat airport and was filmed by airport workers and people driving nearby:
