For the record, this poll (like several others) actually shows Obamacare to be more popular than Obama. So there has to be some other reason besides Obamacare why Obama's numbers aren't as good as they were.

But not how he handled it:

Quinnipiac is such an outlier that I don't even know why we take it at face value here. Remember how bad all their Colorado polls were?

The Mercyhurst poll in OH has shown the same, that Obama's approvals there are in the dumpster.

But keep on ignoring the facts ...

Brand new Rasmussen has him back up to negative 47-52 nationwide. Fascinating!

So brace yourselves for the next round of right-wing media attacks.

On the RCP average chart, Obama's disapproval has peaked Dec. 3 and is now falling again:

RCP does of course count the Q poll, but not the Pew poll.

They do include the Pew poll (look at USAToday/Pew):

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/other/president_obama_job_approval-1044.html

Interesting that RV in that poll disapprove 43-51, while unregistered adults approve 50-42, which means an overall approval rating of 45-49 among all adults.

The Quinnipiac looks like an outlier though ...

Both Rasmussen and Quinnipiac are the big outliers right now.

Take a look at the RCP average (a ton of polls came out in recent days):

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/other/president_obama_job_approval-1044.html

Currently, it's 42.3-53.3 on average.

But Rasmussen is 48-51 and Quinnipiac is 38-57.

If we average both, it's 43-54 - which again is similar to the average.

Rasmussen is the sole remaining voice of reason in these trying times.

Some years ago you would have been executed for a comment like this.

Or at least sent to the Forum psychiatric ward ... Wink

I got a call last night from the automated Rasmussen tracking poll. I'll be curious to see the numbers when they release the results. Besides the usual approval questions, there were a number of questions on gun control and Michelle Obama.

For what it's worth, he's back up to 48/50 on the latest Rasmussen. Which means he might actually be above water on some recent days.

That's because the American public doesn't hear anything about or from him at the moment.

He's on vacation in Hawaii ...

I shame they're cutting back to one public poll a week.  Hopefully we'll get better polls, and until it gets closer to the elections we don't really need a lot of polls.  Still, gotta wonder why Oregon is getting all that poll love.

PPP's polls often get manipulated. And they are in fact easy to manipulate ...

Rasmussen is showing a 51-48 approval today:

Link

All other recent polls are between 40-45% approve and 50-55% disapprove ...

The MN poll is in line with those polls, not with Rasmussen.
