Good.

That´s poetic justice for Maine, where the Cutler guy is taking votes away from Libby Mitchell and therefore enables a LePage win ...

Tom Tancredo Joins Colorado Governor’s Race

By Susan Davis

Former presidential candidate and Republican Rep. Tom Tancredo joined the race for Colorado’s governor today, making good on a promise to get in if the other two Republican candidates didn’t get out.

Tancredo told the Denver Post that he will run as a third party candidate on the American Constitution Party’s ticket.

The former lawmaker is expected to make the announcement official this afternoon.

Last week, Tancredo gave Republican candidates Scott McInnis and Dan Maes an ultimatum: get out, or I’m getting in. Both McInnis and Maes are dragging in the polls against Democrat John Hickenlooper, the mayor of Denver.

McInnis and Maes refused, so Tancredo’s making good on his word. The state Republican Party is not happy.

“Tom Tancredo has nobody’s interest in mind other than his own,” state GOP party chairman Dick Wadhams told the Denver Post. “But what do you expect from a guy who reneged on his term-limit pledge and has been running for office for five decades.”

Tancredo was a long-shot candidate for president in 2008, whose campaign focused largely on his opposition to illegal immigration. He is considered a conservative firebrand, and while he is popular among the party’s right flank, his bid is more likely to split the conservative ticket and make it easier for Hickenlooper this November.

21 tea party/ 9-12 groups just voted in an overwhelming majority to tell Tancredo to back down and that they won't support him.

There goes the only base he could ever possibly have

Even if he gets only 5-10% of the vote, which he will, Hickenlooper will win this.
