KY-2026(?): McConnell "escape hatch" fuels speculation about his future

I actually support that bill and others like it. If voters chose a party to represent them in the Senate, then if something happens to that person, someone from the same party should be appointed. They'll still be subject to a special election, so if voters want a change in leadership, they can just vote out the appointee.
