Why would you be afraid of someone turning out to be a good president who unites the country?

Because it would make the left-wing look bad, which all democrats are afraid of, of course.

Or because he'd "unite the country" to pursue a destructive right-wing agenda that wreaks severe social carnage like Reagan in the 80s?

Yeah.  'Uniting the country' is right-wing doublespeak for 'successfully duping the working class'. 

In no reality is the owner ever 'united with' the worker.

"The worker" is about as meaningless a phrase as "the people".

Something tells me you have never experienced the humiliation of paid employment, friend.  'Worker' means your face is shoved in the sh**t every day all day long.
