Al's title and Stepney's outrage have been amended with no infractions or reporting of posts. But everyone should be on high alert from his point on Smiley

All I can say is - obviously I can't say anything about the topic at hand - but I will say I do deeply regret not knowing what Al had to say on the topic, and what his original thread title was. Cry

Very sad that we can't know what anyone really thinks about this woman or her death.  Wish I had logged on a bit earlier.

There was an impromptu 'gathering' in George Square in Glasgow this evening. No arrests.

Did they burn any effigies or anything like that?

Anyways, I would be the first person to acknowledge that my initial reaction - like those (I'm sure) of literally millions of others - was in poor taste and, yes, was perhaps a little on the ugly side. Though I don't (and won't) regret it.

Of course not.

✓ Lack of remorse
✓ Emotionally shallow
✓ Callous
✓ Impulsive

I don't think she felt any remorse for her crimes, as far as I ever heard.

The Industrial Era is finished. We are currently entering the Tech Era.

Completely false dichotomy and incredibly blinkered of those who don't see it - industrial production still occurs and almost exactly as before, it has just been moved.  And 'Tech' is just an aspect of industry, and not really one that can support more than a small segment of the population.

The divide is between those who think the millions of lives destroyed in the process are collateral damage of the free market's wonderful work, and those who think they should be taken care of and and helped find a spot in the new economic order. And that's a big difference.

Its more than that - many of us on the left understand 'the free market' as being nothing more than government policy.  The idea that it is somehow an inevitable or natural force is absurd.
