We need to recognise that this is a reality in many British cities; criminality provides employment, structure and yes even 'community' for potentially hundreds of people in a small area;

So isn't the point that capitalism and the tories have failed?  Otherwise why would the only recourse for employment, structure, and community be 'criminality'?

The VAST majority are not making any political or sociological point, they are ransacking purely for the sake of it.

That is completely irrelevant - the 'intent' of individuals is of no matter.  What matters is that people only riot when they've been placed in an untenable position - in this case capitalism and the Tories have done that.

Rioting would probably be fun for anyone, but you never see comfortable middle class people with secure, reasonably pleasant jobs, pensions, and benefits rioting.  That there are people in England without secure, reasonably pleasant jobs, pensions, and benefits is the cause of the rioting, even if the people rioting have no understanding of this.

These people have far more than what most in the world have: housing, healthcare, education.

No amount of this "faux" poverty justifies this kind of sh**t. Hell, they aren't even *in* poverty by practically all standards.
