Yeah but in the US they're half the electorate - at least in Europe crazy idiots are only a small percentage.

You're precisely right and let me congratulate you on being one of the few right-leaning persons I know who has a clear understanding of the Nazis.  So many rightists want to make the absurd claim that Naziism was actually 'leftist', I suppose because of the 'socialist' in their name. 

But the reason the Nazis loved big business was not because it was convenient or efficient for 'revving up the war machine', Torie.  No, in fact they were created by big business and for big business.  All such nationalist/traditional values parties, GOP included, a created on behalf of the owners to push for hard-line penal control (cheaper than the alternative but just as effective method of control advocated by the other side).
