What the hell is the deal with some leftists and reactionary governments? It's only occasionally that this seeps into the 'real' public spheres, but online, esp. Reddit's socialism, LSC are obsessed with Assad, Putin, Zakharchenko, etc. My local DSA is fairly bad about it too.
Clearly if you oppose arming every Syrian jihadist, you must believe that the enemy of your enemy is your friend.
Many, many Democrats hold that position. But very few go this far.
