Coffman and Stapleton will no doubt split the establishment vote (what's left of it) and he led all the polls easily thus far. And because of resources? Resources didn't save Strange. I think someone offered him something or he avoiding an incoming bad headline.

He said he knew he’d win the nomination but he just doesn’t see any Rs winning state wide this year and didn’t want to waste his time.
