Has he ever shown any interest in the Presidency?

he came to New Hampshire awhile back. that's about it as far as I know.

Portman is too old-fashioned, too moderate for the GOP.

"Too moderate".

He may not be Jim Jordan, but he's not a Susan Collins either. From what I know Portman is pretty conservative.

yeah he's pretty conservative, he just has that moderate personality/look that swing voters seem to really dig. He's also a workhorse in the senate, which you don't see with ideologues.
