Voting is just as much of a responsibility as it is a right, and mandatory voting should be implemented because it is important to the health of a Democracy that the demographics of the people who vote in elections match the demographics of the population of the country itself, and because mandatory voting is the only way to ensure that this happens.

Life without parole doesn't make any sense to me. If you have decided that someone is too dangerous or has done something so bad that they can never be reformed and reintegrated into society, you might as well give them the death penalty.

I never really understood why people get so bent out of shape about the death penalty but then seem content with LWOP. I meannnnn..... do they not realize that locking someone in a cage for their ENTIRE LIFE is worse for most people? Not to mention people who get shoved into solitary confinement for months or years at a time, and whose minds slowly unravel. That is torture.

I'm not really in favor of the death penalty either, but simply being anti-DP but pro-LWOP seems like an issue position more designed to make the advocate feel better than contribute meaningfully to the issue of criminal justice reform.

LWOP is preferable for a lot of reasons.

Would an innocent person wrongly convicted of crimes rather be given an irreversible death sentence, or a LWOP sentence that can be revoked when more evidence shows up?

When it comes to whether or not to prosecute a politician for bribery, federal prosecutors seem to have an informal whitelist of groups where a politician can accept a bribe, and then not be prosecuted. This whitelist seems to mostly encompass major corporate interest groups such as wall street, and other powerful organizations. Way too many politicians have accepted huge bribes from groups like these at some point in time.

The only reason Bob Menendez in particular was prosecuted for bribery is because he so happened to accept a bribe from a group not on this informal whitelist. There are so many politicians who accepted far larger bribes than he did, and who did far more damage to the law in the process than he did who were not prosecuted simply because the bribe they accepted came from a group on this informal whitelist.

Using the death penalty for rape would make the problem with rape being under-reported much much worse than it already is because it would put rape victims who believe that the death penalty is a step too far in a situation where either they cannot report the crime at all, or they report the crime and the rapist gets a substantially tougher penalty than they are comfortable with, and a substantial portion of people advocating for the use of such a penalty for rape know how it works and want this to happen.

in 2003, the 14th amendment was finally ratified by every state.
This means that everything in the 14th amendment legally supersedes constitutional protections that require unanimous consent from the states in the constitution, including the equal protection clause from which the 1 person 1 vote principle was derived.
Thereby, the unanimous consent requirement to change the composition of the Senate has been met after that point, and the principle of 1 person 1 vote can legally be held to apply to the US Senate from that point forward.

TLDR: The US Senate is unconstitutional.

The school day should be longer and academic standards in K-12 education should be much more intense to bring the USA up to par with competition in East Asia.

Whenever a judge in any court (such as District, Circuit, or Supreme) leaves their position (such as in death or resignation or retirement or impeachment, etc), then the seat should be declared eliminated; not vacant; and then only way to create new seats (or recreate eliminated seats) should be to pass legislation specifically expanding the size of the court and stipulating how many seats are to be added.
