Can't wait for the public to hear Biden's enlightening views on Anita Hill and Indian-Americans. Also not counting the potential metoo stuff that's bound to exploded when the primary season gets closer to scheduled.

What really makes you think Biden is like that? Grabbing people's shoulders or standing to close might indicate lack of social awareness, but it doesn't make you someone who sexually assaults people. A lot of older grandfathers act the way Biden does around women. His touching them isn't sexual in nature at all.

Biden will know if he has a #metoo moment in his past. He won't run if he does. I'm sure something will be thrown out there with how dirty of a campaign 2020 will be, but it likely won't be credible.
Indeed, I'm inclined to believe that if there was anything actually true about this it would have come out by now with all the fervor. If nothing happens, and then after he declares he gets accused, that's a massive red flag to me.

Yes. He wants to use Stacey Abrams to neutralize any criticism on his heinous record on criminal and racial justice. Thankfully Ms. Abrams would never go for that bullsh-t.
Inb4 Biden/Abrams is real.

Honestly, the bottom line is that Dems deserve a nominee who isn't full of bullsh**t controversies
That won't happen because the nature of this primary is to make up controversies.

I think Joe Biden is the only Democrat candidate who can win states like Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Ohio, etc. in 2020. If the Democrats select a "Woke" candidate, the party will lose all those states again.

Yea, despite the long term trends towards more minorities in the electorate, the youth being more liberal and more people graduating college, we are still not there yet demographically. Maybe in 2028 or 2032 Until then, we need to go back our roots as a party of unions and the everyday man.

I worry that Biden's awful criminal justice record is going to be used against him the same way it was used against Hillary. He said and did way worse stuff than 'superpredators' plus he has a god awful record on trade for the Rust Belt so when people say he appeals there it baffles me.
Awful record on trade? What, being pro-trade? I'm pretty sure Trump is showing that protectionism is bad for just about everyone.

The old ass clown is running:

Quote
Joe Biden is running. The former vice president will make his candidacy official with a video announcement next Wednesday, according to people familiar with the discussions who have been told about them by top aides.

Quote
He wants this. He really wants this. He’s wanted this since he was first elected to the Senate, in 1972, and he’s decided that he isn’t too old, isn’t too out of sync with the current energy in the Democratic Party, and certainly wasn’t going to be chased out by the women who accused him of making them feel uncomfortable or demeaned because of how he’d touched them.

This tidbit made me laugh:
Quote
On Thursday afternoon, Biden was in Boston, where he joined the picketing of the Stop & Shop supermarket chain by the United Food and Commercial Workers, in his third appearance with a union crowd in the past six weeks. Workers there, as when he addressed the International Association of Fire Fighters in March, held up run joe run! signs. ”Bankers, Wall Street, and CEOs didn’t build this country,” he told them as he spoke about the dignity of workers, health care, and good wages. “You did!”
He is so full of sh-t. Roll Eyes

I don't know where this idea that he's going to be in bed with corpoorations is coming from. His past doesn't signify it. He's been pro-worker, good ratings from AFL-CIO. Moderate and not "corporatist" are not mutually exclusive.

So when's the announcement supposed to finally happen? Isn't the cutoff for the first debate May 15th? He'll presumably want to get in before that day.
24th...

The Atlantic says to expect a video announcement on Wednesday. A kickoff event will either be in Philadelphia (on the Rocky steps no less) or in Charlottesville.

YEEES! JOSEPH!

Yeah, Uncle Joe has wide support from unions. I don't get the hate.
Because he supports corporatist neoliberal policies that benefit rich people. People need single payer and he doesn't want it! Of course we hate him. He's a joke and he should be running in the GOP primary!

And before you play the reverse card on me, here's solid evidence that he isn't anywhere near conservative.

Has anyone noticed him slurring his words a bit in the speech yesterday and on The View? Seems like something to watch for, it could matter in the debates.

Only Biden. Only Biden gets these kinds of comments.

Don’t many Iowa voters view China as a job stealer?

Also, don’t most economists agree we are an economic foe of China?

Regardless of whether he is right or wrong, this might not be the best thing to say in a wwc state
China is one of the top buyers of American agricultural products, so many people in a state like Iowa are going to want stable economic terms with them.

I think it's pretty obvious that the fact that most dem primary voters top concern is electability and they listen to the media and the media has been saying for 2 years that dems can only beat Trump if they nominate someone who can win back WWC voters in states like PA means Dem voters would be inclined to support Biden, hence why he leads in the polls. The only point I would raise is electability never works out, choosing a candidate because they are electable has not worked out for either party in the last 50 years or so.

No. People back Biden because he has the highest name recognition and they associate him with Obama.

If the main concern of the Democratic electorate was winning the WWC, they would nominate Bernie.

Biden has no special appeal to the WWC beyond being white himself.

Yes where does this idea that Joe Biden is particularly popular among working-class white people come from? The people I know in real life who are actually excited about Biden are all moderate, former Republican #NeverTrump people.
I don't remember which one but a recent poll had Biden with most support from <50k a year and Sanders with most support from >100k a year.
