Hello fellow Atlasians. I would like to officially announce my candidacy for the February Lincoln assembly election as a member of the Progressive Union Party. I wish to bring cooperation to the assembly, working with other parties whenever I can. I want to promote the free market without letting it trample the average citizen with reasonable regulations where necessary. I hope to bring the politics of reason and logic to the assembly, rather than mudslinging and stagnation.
Where I Stand

Minimum Wage: I believe that the state of Lincoln should be divided into regions based on cost of living, with minimum wage set accordingly. These wages would come under review each year and can be adjusted as needed. This system ensures that all people are able to earn a living income without overburdening businesses in cheaper areas.
Marijuana Policy: I support the continuation of legal marijuana policies and will fight against any bills to criminalize it. The use of marijuana for all purposes has been deemed safe and it is made safer by government regulation. Legal marijuana supplies a good source of government income and I wouldn't want to tighten the budget any more.
LGBT+ Issues: I am a full supporter of the rights of LGBT+ people and oppose any actions that would discriminate against them.
Infrastructure: As an assemblyman, I would work towards allocating more funds towards infrastructure projects. I would also like to see better quality and more efficient planning of these projects, and would be willing to lend a hand personally.
Drinking Age: I oppose any MLDA higher than 18 years old. The vast majority of the world has an MLDA of 18 with some places even at 16. No major health issues have been experienced from doing so and there is no reason to prevent 18-20 from drinking if they want to. Allowing them to drink alcohol provides an economic boost wich leads to more government income and better quality of life overall.
Gun Control: All citizens of Lincoln deserve to be able to live safely without fear, and one way of making this a reality is limiting access to guns. There should be license and vetting requirements to own guns, with bans on felons and suspected terrorists from owning them.
Abortion: A women's body belongs to herself, not us, and we are not as qualified as they are to make decisions regarding their pregnancy. I support allowing abortion for the majority of pregnancy.
Education: I support a reform of the education system which would focus more on encouraging the student than their test scores. While I wouldn't do away with them entirely, the amount of state administered standardized tests should be reduced. The current education system causes far too much stress for the student, limiting their inner abilities. This burden needs to be lifted. My education plan also includes increased funding for modernizing schools and new programs for students.
Taxes: I support a progressive tax model with wealthier people paying a higher tax percentage than poorer people. I also support a value added tax (VAT).
Healthcare:I wholeheartedly support government programs to cover the healthcare costs of those who need it most, and these people should be our priority. While a public health system seems like a wonderful idea, it would have to be within the budget in order for me to support it. If a public option is to be made available I would still prefer for private options to also be available.
Welfare: I believe that the unemployed should be provided with benefits and shouldn't be left alone to suffer or possibly die., but I also don't believe that welfare should be a lifestyle. I would work with businesses to create programs to help and encourage more people to become employed.

Vote for Ninja0428! A voice for reason. A voice for people.

I would like to thank everyone in Lincoln who voted for me, first or second preference, for allowing a new, reasonable voice to come to the assembly. Now that the election is over, we can move on to creating policies that work for everyone, that include everyone, and helps everyone be their best in terms of health and opportunity. Now that the election is over, we can create a functioning transportation network, with a heavy focus on public transportation to get traffic off of the roads. Now that the election is over, we can elevate Lincoln to a never before seen level of quality of life, and it's all thanks to you guys. Thank you!

House Election Announcement
Despite current circumstances, I will still be running for the house of representatives in April as a member of the Progressive Union Party. I am still dedicated moderate, reasonable policy that works for everyone. I specifically would like to emphasize catering more to the needs of individual people in different situations rather than promoting large blanket programs. I still support the same policies that I did in my last election and would like to add a few more positions.

Foreign Policy: I believe in a mildly non-interventionist policy. I prefer to focus on the important issues at home rather than start senseless wars, especially if there isn't reasonable cause to. I am still willing to step in during genocides and don't think we should abandon our allies around the world that put their trust in us. I would like to avoid military conflicts and utilize diplomacy as mush as possible.
Foreign Aid: As a wealthy, developed nation, I believe that Atlasia has an obligation to provide support to the less fortunate around the world. There are many people around the world struggling with hunger, disease, and other basic issues. While I understand that it costs a lot to maintain our own country we can still pitch in some to help. We should also provide resources for dealing with natural disasters to countries around the world that don't have the ability to do so themselves.
Environment: We rely on having an Earth that we can live on, and we have to take up the responsibility of keeping it habitable. Whether or not we are causing the climate to change in can not be denied that pollutants are harmful to the health of us and our wildlife and that many of our natural resources are finite. I would like to support programs to replace fossil fuel based power plants with modern renewable sources such as solar, wind, hydroelectric, nuclear, and geothermal. These plants would employ as many former fossil fuel workers as possible and would be supplemented by re-training programs. I support the continuation of our environmental regulations and national parks program. I would like to incentivize auto manufacturers to produce more and cheaper electric vehicles.

I may decide to run for president in June due to the dropping out of DFW due to Siren's vague announcement. There are a few factors that I will consider before making a final announcement.
-Whether or not Siren actually runs.
-Whether or not I'm elected to the house.
-How much of the left supports Siren.
-How much of the center supports Siren/someone else.
-If Oakvale is the only likely fed candidate.
-What Siren's platforms are (if she runs).

It's great to see that I have been reelected to the Lincoln assembly, so that I can either continue my work there or be replaced by another person who will do the utmost in service. It is not known yet whether or not I have been elected to the house of representatives. It is believed that the results will be very messy so I am going to say right now that no matter what the outcome is I will not contest the results in court.

According to Peebs on Sestak's coverage thread I have been elected to the house. While she has not posted on the official thread yet I will be presuming victory. I would like to thank all of my high preference voters for making this possible. I'm looking forwards to a productive term in the house and will make an announcement about my political future fairly soon. I can say at this point that I will only be serving one term in the house.

Ninja0428 Senate Campaign Announcement

It is my pleasure tonight to announce the launch of my campaign for Lincoln senate in August. I am running under the slogan "Together for Solutions", which describes exactly what I want to do in the senate. We need to start new programs, create new legislation, and come up with new solutions to help the people of Lincoln and Atlasia, and this is something we'll only accomplish by coming together with those we may disagree with, rather than turning our backs. We see ourselves faced with many issues today in Atlasia. Unemployment continues to be undesirably high, personal safety and security have become increasingly prominent concerns, and we need someone who is willing to tackle these issues as I have been in the past. I still believe in my previous platforms and throughout this campaign I plan to make additional speeches to cover new issues in greater detail. I hope that this August we can come together around a candidate who will fight for the citizens, rather than one who will fight against his fellow members of congress.

Experience:
Lincoln Assemblyman: February 21st, 2018-May 2nd, 2018
Speaker of the Assembly: February 21st, 2018-April 26th, 2018
Representative: May 4th, 2018-July 5th, 2018
Lincoln Secretary of Development and Infrastructure: May 17th, 2018-Present

Campaign Speech Schedule:
July 2nd: New York, NY: Foreign Policy
July 3rd: Cleveland, OH: Digital Issues
July 6th: Grand Rapids, MI: Unemployment and the Economy
July 23rd: Boston, MA: Activity and Game Reform
July 26th: Naperville, IL: Civil Rights
TBA beyond that point.

Endorsements:
Representative Pericles
Fmr. Senator Mike Wells
Assemblyman JGibson
First Minister YE
Fmr. Representative Sestak

Madison Square Garden

New York City, New York

First of all I would like to thank the people of New York for attending this event and the operators of Madison Square Garden for hosting me tonight. Today we live in a world where nearly everything and everybody are linked in some way regardless of their physical location. World economies have become dependent on each other, and every move by one nation can alter all others. We live in an age where managing our foreign relations in a responsible manner and being thoughtful in our actions worldwide are more important than ever, which is something that I would make every effort to do as your senator.
Large wars truly are one of the most devastating things that man can create. They lead to death, human suffering, and negative economic impacts for years. They can strain relations and limit our productivity. At the same time, we have just as much of an ability to prevent wars from happening as we do to start them. We can and must keep open relations with other nations around the world, even those who we may feel uncomfortable with. When we use words, they often work, and I consider an exchange of words to always be preferable to an exchange of bullets. Diplomacy would be my focus as senator, and I would support opening communications with more nations. Unfortunately, however, as a realist I must admit that war isn’t always avoidable. There are times when rogue nations will threaten us and our ever important allies, and some crises can not be avoided. We must defend ourselves, and we can’t abandon our allies. But we also have to make sure that when we think there’s a “threat”, there actually is one, as not to have any more blunders such as the old USA did in Iraq. If you vote for Ninja to be our senator in August, we can work towards a world without major wars, and with far less suffering because of it.
Not only can we use our diplomatic influence to end unnecessary fighting, but we can also develop positive relationships with those abroad to benefit us all. We’ve seen numerous benefits that come from cooperation with others. We’ve seen a clear positive economic impact from healthy trade with others, and the failures of protectionism have been made clear before. While I do not deny the possibility for unfavorable trade negotiations, it is overall a good thing for Atlasia to be involved in global economics. Not only can we cooperate economically, but also scientifically. We can vastly improve our progression scientifically by joining forces with other nations, and some worldwide projects can only be a success with cooperation. Our climate and environment our hot topics in this time, but for as much as we can do we can’t save our Earth without getting everyone involved. The same goes for humanitarian issues with disease and malnutrition. If we want to better ourselves, we’ll also have to help better others. As a senator I would strive to bring our world together to focus on economic, social, and scientific improvement.
As your senator we can strive for a safer and more prosperous world. We can keep Atlasia involved on a global scale, but it a positive way. We can handle our relations responsibly and reduce or strained tensions. We can have a better Earth, we can reduce wars worldwide, and we can do it with the help of Senator Ninja!

Well because of a recent turn of events it turns out that I'm running in a special election this weekend! Unfortunately, I'm currently not able to make any major speeches or anything. So, I instead will be taking whatever questions the voters my have for me. I hope for some good questions and run a successful campaign!

Hello Fremont! Today it is my pleasure to announce my candidacy for an open seat in the Parliament of the Commonwealth. I'm excited about this new opportunity and I hope to bring new legislative discourse to the region and push for policy to improve life in Fremont. I have a considerable amount of legislative experience, including being a part of the most productive Lincoln assembly session to date. This is the kind of activity I hope to bring to the parliament. More information on my policy position can be found throughout the thread, and anyone is welcome to ask any questions regarding my candidacy.

FM announcement, yeah...
So I spent a bunch of time writing this out only to fink up and make it disappear. I now have 0 desire to type that again, but basically the main points were protecting civil liberties, supporting a fair market economy, support responsible environmental policy such as clean energy and recycling, updating and improving our education methods and curriculum, and support an active government with citizen involvement. I'll certainly go back and elaborate but I'm not going to have time on Friday and I'll be away for the weekend so I just wanted to get this out there. Feel free to ask me any questions, and my apologies for the lackluster announcement.

Hello everyone. I've been on a bit of a hiatus and I haven't been all that active in government lately, but it is my pleasure to announce my return to politics today. I will be running an independent campaign for the house, and I hope to have your vote this December. My goals are as follows:

1. Keep Our Congress Balanced: When one group of people dominates our government, they gain the ability to push policies through no matter how absurd or misguided they are. Pure partisanship can create extreme and fluctuating policies that are harmful to our nation, and there ought to be a measure to prevent this.
2. Be a Check On Legislative Quality: Similarly to the first point, total domination can also lead to poorly written bills that can have unforeseen consequences and fail to properly address the issue, and with nobody to stop it. Using my own experience as a legislator, I will always fully read over any bills which come to the floor for errors, and I will not allow any bill to pass with such issues.
3. Encourage Meaningful Game Reform: It seems that every election cycle we hear about activity and issues with the game and this one should not be an exception. Right now we are seeing our government, particularly our regional governments, struggling to get active, and citizen involvement has been quite disappointing considering our high registration numbers. I will support policies such as an official summit between federal and regional officeholders, as well as the citizens, to discuss policy and spark activity. I will also always be open to input from the citizens on how we can make the game more friendly and enjoyable.
4. Work as a Multipartisan Legislator: As a representative I do not simply wish to block bad policy, but also work in the process of creating good policy. We still have many issues in Atlasia, and I will work to create pragmatic and successful legislation, and will work with anyone who wishes to do so with me. I will also be open to any citizen input, being a representative of the people, especially those who feel unrepresented by partisan politicians.

Feel free to leave any questions you have for me in this thread.

I might consider you if you were a genuine Independent, but it is pretty clear at this point that you are a Federalist in all but name and a vote for you is a vote for the Federalist bloc. I hope voters are aware of that when they cast their ballots so they can make an informed decision.
I'm not sure if you noticed, but I recently became the chair of the Alliance party, a party which is dedicated to being independent from the Labor and Federalist parties. I am not a member of either of the major parties and I support the policies and people that I believe in. I'm not sure where you're getting this "Fed-Lite" idea from.
