Democratic ticket Muskie/Lindsay are elected with just over 280+ electoral votes.
President Edmund Muskie Vice President John Lindsay 1969 – 1973
Muskie/Lindsay are defeated in a landslide in 1972 to Reagan/Ford who win 400+ electoral votes. The Reagan/Ford ticket win another 400+ electoral landslide in 1976.
President Ronald Reagan Vice President Gerald Ford 1973 – 1981
Despite running a tight campaign, Democratic ticket Jimmy Carter/Lloyd Bentsen are no match in 1980 for GOP ticket Ford/Bush. They are comfortably elected with more than 320+ electoral votes.
President Gerald Ford Vice President George H.W. Bush 1981 – 1985
Ford/Bush are narrowly defeated in 1984 as Biden/Bradley win just over 300 electoral votes. The Biden/Bradley ticket are re-elected with more than 330 electoral votes in 1988.
President Joe Biden Vice President Bill Bradley 1985 – 1993
GOP ticket of McCain/Alexander win with more than 330 electoral votes. They are re-elected in 1996.
President John McCain Vice President Lamar Alexander 1993 – 2001
With more than 370 electoral votes, Democratic ticket Clinton/Bayh win a landslide. They win another landslide in 2004.
