I sent a few pieces of legislation to the Speaker some time ago and they still have not been posted. Should I post them in here instead?

Echoing what Kamala said above, I urge all members of Parliament and/or citizens of Fremont to submit your legislation to this thread — both so that it is on the record and so that either the Speaker or I can make a thread for it when ready.

In regards to debating and passing more items before this Parliament, I'd like to propose amending a part of the Standing Orders for the Chamber (found here).

Currently as a Parliament, we can only be actively debating three pieces of legislature submitted legislation at a time, a single citizen initiative, and a single constitutional amendment. I'd argue that this highly limits the amount we are able to accomplish as a chamber, and as such I'm interested in either increasing the limit currently in place for all three types of legislation, or removing it entirely.

According to the "Disputes" section of the Standing Orders, I as First Minister can do this unilaterally -- though I don't think that's quite democratic. In that case, the idea can go before the Parliament, and requires 2/3 of MPs to pass (currently five out of seven members, including myself).

I'd love to hear what you all think of this, so please comment below!

Perhaps index the number of bills that may be introduced at one time to the number of sitting MPs? The idea behind the current proposal was to prevent debate from burning short and bright, as well as to avoid overwhelming legislators with too many threads going at once (this was a complaint often raised during the 2015-16 Constitutional Convention, when even active delegates had a difficult time keeping up with proceedings)—though I do take the point that in a large chamber, three might be too low a limit.

I do like the indexing it to sitting MPs quite a bit, come to think of it. I can definitely see (a-la The South) how so many at once can be overwhelming, but definitely think three is unduly constraining.

I'll go ahead and offer up the following amendment on the Standing Orders for our Parliament, Article II Sections 3-7. If there are no objections, I'll assume it passed 24 hours from now.

3) The Speaker may keep a number of threads open equal to the current number of Members of Parliament plus two.up to five threads open for voting and debate simultaneously. Each piece of legislation shall have a separate thread.

4) The first three open threads shall be open to all legislation introduced by Members of the Commons or by the Prime Minister. The number of threads open to all legislation introduced by Members of Parliament or the Prime Minister shall be indexed to the number of sitting MPs. The Speaker shall move legislation to these threads in the order in which it was introduced in the thread specified in (1).

5) One The fourth open thread shall be reserved for legislation offered by a citizen or citizens of the Commonwealth not being either sitting Members of the Commons or the sitting Prime Minister.

6) Another The fifth open thread shall be reserved for amendments to the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Fremont.

7) Legislation shall no longer count toward the five-thread limit when it is no longer before the ParliamentCommons. Legislation is no longer considered "before the ParliamentCommons" under any of the following conditions:
