Pick one.

You're sorely mistaken if you don't think that this state is at least Likely R.

What you guys don't understand is that DeSantis barely beat an afro-Socialist. This is good wave insurance, as we're leading in NC, NH will split its ticket Hassan/Ayotte Gov, and WARNOCK may have to go to a runoff.

Not only do I understand that, but I was literally there, in fact, having worked on the Gillum campaign, so I recall it painfully well, & what I quite clearly recall was both DeSantis & Scott winning by <1 in a D+9 year after Trump had won the state by 1 in a D+2 year & then followed by Trump winning the state by 3 in a D+4 year, so if you're refusing to understand the reality of this Floridian trend, then at a certain point, you're just denying the undeniable.

Yeah, because:

A) As mentioned before, this has typically been a very close state in gubernatorial elections, and
B) DeSantis didn't really campaign on any issues. Basically he just campaigned on "black man bad, build the wall," and ride on Trump's coattails.

When he got into office, however, he governed as a far more center-right politician and has even thrown some bones at some more left-leaning issues like the environment and teacher pay raises. He had sky-high approval ratings before the pandemic, meaning he was getting a pretty good amount of support from registered Democrats. That did crater a bit when the pandemic started but has also rebounded a good amount as his strategy hasn't really made Florida worse off, per capita, than a number of states who took a more hard-line strategy.

Voters, by and large no matter their political persuasion, don't want to home school their kids.

Sorry, this was a parody of another user, didn't realize so many people would respond seriously Smiley
