PHASE II, TURN IV: LET THE GAMES BEGIN

A new month sees relative stability on the Democratic side. Tom Steyer, Stacey Abrams and Kirsten Gillibrand continue to vie for the top spot, with Steve Bullock and Tammy Baldwin also running hard ahead of the first in the nation caucuses. Meanwhile, on the Republican side, President Pence and Senator McConnell have made seeming peace. The President now appears to have finally consolidated his hold on his party, but some voice concerns that the fact it took so long might be used against him. Only time will tell how this will play out...

Current Polling (1-2 February 2020)

Democrats
Tom Steyer - 26%
Kirsten Gillibrand - 24%
Stacey Abrams - 23%
Tammy Baldwin - 9%
Steve Bullock - 8%
Jeff Merkley - 2%
Jon Stewart - 1%
Others - 0%
Undecided - 8%

Republicans
Mike Pence - 77%

Other/Undecided - 23%

Libertarians
Austin Petersen - 83%
Other/Undecided - 17%

Schedules for the first three days of February will be due March 7. There will be no debate this turn.

BREAKING NEWS
PENCE, McCONNELL COME TO AGREEMENT, ENDING GOP SCHISM

President Mike Pence and now once and future Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell have come to an agreement that promises to end the schism that has wracked the Republican Party for the past three weeks. McConnell will reassume his role of Senate Majority Leader and push to pass the President's tax plan, which failed last month amid the opening skirmishes of the split. He will also reunite his Conservative Caucus with the Republicans, as well as standing down on his threat to unleash a "true conservative" as an independent against Pence in the general election.

President Pence, for his part, will officially rescind his endorsements of primary challengers to the members of the Conservative Caucus up in 2020, including McConnell.

Election Update 2020
with your hosts, Tucker Carlson and Mark Levin

Carlson: Good evening. I'm Tucker Carlson.

Levin: And I'm Mark Levin. And this is your election update.

Carlson: This week marked by the resolution of the massive GOP schism between President Pence and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, which many conservatives feared would have completely thrown the election to the Democratic nominee.

Levin: Many other news stories, as well, which you can check up on at foxnews.com.

Carlson: That said, tonight we have a special guest, the current frontrunner for the Libertarian nomination for President, Austin Petersen. Mr. Petersen, how are you tonight?

Petersen: Good, Tucker. Happy to be here.

Carlson: Glad to have you here, Mr. Petersen. Now, from what the polls have shown so far, you’ve managed to turn what was expected to be a chaotic Libertarian nominating process into effectively your own coronation. What do you think it is about that has united this often-fractured party?

Petersen: Well I think the answer is quite simple. Libertarians know who I am and they know what I stand for. I’ve advocated and fought for this party’s values for years! Actions speak louder than words and I am a libertarian who has shown that I do have the principles and the dedication to run as the nominee. A lot of the grassroots support I had from 2016 carries on today!

Carlson: A similar story to what many supporters of Bernie Sanders hoped for prior to the President's stroke. Now, since you began running, the Libertarian Party has spiked in voter registration. How do you explain this broadening of appeal?

Petersen: I think this has to do with a lot of factors when you look into that spike. My campaign has been doing as much as we can to register as many voters for the party so we can be competitive not just in the national election but also the local elections as well! We need the Libertarian Party to be just as common as the Democratic or Republican Party to crush this 2 party system. We’ve been doing these efforts on the ground and online! I was in Iowa recently and we managed to get sizable turnout for registering! I also think people are starting to feel the need for something different than the GOP or the Dems. Especially when you look at their primary races. You can’t blame them for considering the Libertarian Party after all!

Carlson: A similar phenomenon to Governor Johnson's spike in the face of Clinton vs. Trump. Now, if you are elected, what would your first 100 days be like?

Petersen: Well first I would enact as many policies that are true to the libertarian cause for freedom! I would cut as many regulations to bolster our economy and rejuvenate that sense of rugged individualism that’s been stifled by our government. We also want to make change abroad with our foreign policy and make it possible that our government doesn’t participate itself in any wars that aren’t approved by Congress or the people while also limiting our spending and resources on other nations to refocus our efforts here at home! Every action I’ll do during my first 100 days will always be with the goal of having freedom for every American out there and limiting the size and scope of government according to constitution.

Carlson: That government is best which governs least, as Thomas Jefferson said. Now, before you go, Mr. Petersen, as the primaries approach, if you could tell the American people one thing tonight, what would it be?

Petersen: To all of you who are watching at home I know I may not be as well known as the other candidates in the GOP and Democratic primaries. I may not be as rich or politically trained but I will say that there is a growing majority of folks who are getting tired of this two party system as it implodes on itself. People want something different and they want a new cause to fight for! So if you’re tired of these two parties with different names but the same issues than come visit our campaign site, Petersen2020.com and see if this is a campaign for you!

Carlson: Mr. Petersen, a pleasure to have you with us.

Petersen: Likewise, Tucker.

Carlson: And that will be all for tonight. Tune in next time for the critical news stories that will continue to shape this race. Until then, I'm Tucker Carlson.

Levin: And I'm Mark Levin.

Both: And this has been your Election Update.

BREAKING NEWS
ABRAMS, BALDWIN WIN DEM DEBATE; JORDAN WINS GOP DEBATE BY DEFAULT AS JONES, PENCE DECLINE TO ATTEND

Ms. Stacey Abrams and Senator Tammy Baldwin were viewed as the biggest winners in the Democratic debate last week, per a Reuters poll conducted shortly thereafter. Ms. Abrams was viewed as the best debater by 47% of respondents, while Senator Baldwin was most approved of by 26%. The rest of the support was largely evenly split among Steyer, Gillibrand, and Bullock, the other three major Democratic attendees.

Conversely, the Republican debate turned into a Jim Jordan rally in Virginia, as the Representative from Ohio's 4th district was the only candidate to attend the debate. As a result, Fox News effectively gave Jordan free reign of the stage, allowing him to better clarify his positions. Many believe this could provide a significant boost to Jordan's campaign less than a month before the Iowa caucuses.

Election Update 2020
with your hosts, Tucker Carlson and Mark Levin

Carlson: Good evening. I'm Tucker Carlson.

Levin: And I'm Mark Levin. And this is your election update.

Carlson: This week marked by the passage of the President's opioid reform bill, meant to fix the damage caused by the epidemic that has swept across the nation these past few decades.

Levin: Many other news stories, as well, which you can check up on at foxnews.com.

Carlson: That said, tonight we have a special guest, the former Minority Leader of the Georgia House of Representatives, Stacey Abrams. Ms. Abrams, how are you tonight?

Abrams: Good, Tucker. Happy to be here.

Carlson: Glad to have you here, Ms. Abrams. Now, despite numerous competitors dropping out and endorsing your rivals, you’ve managed to remain competitive in numerous races. What do you believe is the key to your continued success?

Abrams: Well, there’s a lot of things that’s contributed to the success of my campaign. We’ve got the backing of a lot of influential people, people I respect, like President Carter, Congressman Lewis, Reverend Sharpton, Karen Bass (the Chair of the Congressional Black Caucus), Jaime Harrison, Congressman O’Rourke, Governor Cooper, Senator Warner, and last but certainly not least Ms. Oprah Winfrey. Another reason we’re doing well and outlasting Senators, Governors, Members of Congress that have been in Washington for many years is that people want real change and they want to win. Polls have us ahead of President Pence. I’m the only frontrunner who’s beating President Pence. I’m one of two candidates beating him, other than my good friend Governor Steve Bullock. People want change in their government. They don’t want another person in Washington, they want someone with government experience that doesn’t have the stench of Washington. I have 0 Lobbyists funding me, 0 Super PACs, and I’m not a billionaire. All of our funding is from real people. We’ve got the strongest grassroots support of anybody in the race, and we hope to keep that up.

Carlson: An outsider approach that has served you well so far. Now, you’ve endorsed Democrats in nearly every major downballot race in November, including the generally accepted “safe states.” Do you believe your coattails can make those races competitive?

Abrams: I think that my endorsement could help some of these races become competitive. We’ve had a President whose only prior experience was hosting a reality show, whatever preconceived notions about elections ought to be thrown out the window. You can also look back at Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s race in 2018. No one saw AOC coming. Not many people were watching results that night. AOC became a household name overnight. What we, as Democrats, have to do is make sure we’ve got good candidates in every race, because elections can change overnight. You could also look back at my race in 2018 for Governor. If this were any other Republican or any other Democrat, the race would’ve gotten 0 attention whatsoever. We had a reckless Republican candidate, and someone that people saw as a change-maker, someone new, someone fresh, coming into the political scene. We’ve gotta be ready for anything in these down-ballot races. We must hold the House, take the Senate, and win back State Houses all over the country. We can’t risk these down-ballot races, we’ve got to win big in November, I’m the candidate to make these races competitive.

Carlson: As the pundit class learned in 2016, nothing is certain. Now, you’ve picked up numerous endorsements in the South. Do you believe this region will be key to your nomination?

Abrams: Absolutely but it’s no more important than any other region of the country. I’m from the South, people down there know me well. I’ve been to every county in South Carolina. Ideally, we’d like to win every state, but we know that’s not realistic. This is gonna be a close election. At the end of the day, we might not win Iowa or New Hampshire or Nevada, but, it’s about accumulating delegates. I believe that we’re in a good position to be in the top 3 or 4 in all 4 early states and to win South Carolina. I’m really appreciative of the support that President Carter, Congressman Lewis, Reverend Sharpton, Jaime Harrison, Congressman O’Rourke, Governor Cooper, and Senator Warner have given me and with all of their help and with the help of all of my surrogates and supporters, we’re gonna carry the South and expand our coalition up north and hopefully have a majority of delegates once we get to the convention.

Carlson: A plan not at all unlike the one expressed by Biden supporters back in 2018. Now, before you go, Ms. Abrams, as the primaries approach, if you could tell the American people one thing tonight, what would it be?

Abrams: The top 2 contenders are attacking each other, buying ads against one another, buying out each other’s ads. If we want Mike Pence to get 4 more years in office, we’re doing a fantastic job. This endless bickering and fighting only takes the attention off of the dire need to get him out of office.

I’m running a positive campaign, lifting others up, not tearing each other down. I’m running a campaign based on compassion, empathy, caring, joy, respecting one another, unifying this nation, telling the truth, working together to get things done (no matter what party they identify with), taking responsibility for our actions, and having plans to back up what you want to get done. That is what we need in a president. We need a President that when you watch them your blood pressure doesn’t go up. I’ve worked all of my life for the country I love. I hope I can earn your support because this is the most pivotal election in modern American history. We must win, and we’ll only do it together.

Carlson: Ms. Abrams, a pleasure to have you with us.

Abrams: Likewise, Tucker.

Carlson: And that will be all for tonight. Tune in next time for the critical news stories that will continue to shape this race. Until then, I'm Tucker Carlson.

Levin: And I'm Mark Levin.

Both: And this has been your Election Update.

Election Update 2020
with your hosts, Tucker Carlson and Mark Levin

Carlson: Good evening. I'm Tucker Carlson.

Levin: And I'm Mark Levin. And this is your final election update from Fox News for this cycle.

Carlson: This week marked by the buildup to the first in the nation state, Iowa, where 41 Democratic delegates are on the line.

Levin: Many other news stories, as well, which you can check up on at foxnews.com.

Carlson: That said, tonight we have a special guest, the President of the United States, Mike Pence. Mr. President, how are you tonight?

Pence: Good, Tucker. Happy to be here.

Carlson: Glad to have you here, Mr. President. Now, despite several scares over the past year, you’ve finally managed to right the Republican Party under your control. Are you concerned about the possibility of another incident restarting the turmoil?

Pence: No, not at all. Look, there is no question that the Republican Party has had its fair share of vital transformations during the past couple of years, adding to the great conservatism of Ronald Reagan some new elements that are appropriate for the issues we are facing right now. Obviously, this was not easy and we had our fair share of conflicts, but we have done what we had to do given the issues the America of 2020 is dealing with, unlike the Democrats, who are lying to themselves and keep screaming that this all for electoral gain instead of proposing any solutions or constructive ideas. So, to answer directly the questions, I am not worried because now the GOP is a very well-oiled machine that will win big in 2020 and enact real change for the American people, and this 2 things are things that all of us Republicans are fighting for.

Carlson: A strong projection of confidence so far bolstered by Senator McConnell falling back in line following his reinstatement as Majority Leader. Now, some on the left have attacked you for “doing what’s popular solely for your own electoral benefit.” How do you respond to these charges?

Pence: This accusation is ridiculous with absolutely no basis in reality but why not look a bit at the context? While the left has opposed us at every move, we have accomplished more than any Administration in its first year in recent history. All of it has a very direct effect on the prosperity of the people of this country. Compared to 2019, here is what we have changed - your taxes are a lot lower if you are a low or middle class American, allowing you and your family to build up prosperity, infrastructure, especially in poor communities, is of better quality and rapidly expanding, your Representatives are listening more to you because lobbying has been restricted, treatment centers are being built all around the country as we speak to tackle the opioid crisis, mother can take paid family leave and have affordable childcare, regulations are being killed off, illegal immigration is slowing down, the economy is strong. That is my record that I am proudly running on to win another term, because there is so much more that needs to be done, and I think that the accusations of the left are just improvised because they have no arguments to contest our accomplishments.

Carlson: Certainly hard to argue with this much passed legislation. Now, some have accused you of being ill-tempered and prickly for responding to nearly every Democratic candidate’s tweets, and fear that this gives you a poor temperament for foreign policy, where the President is often forced to deal with those eager to “get a rise” out of him. How do you respond to these claims?

Pence: Look, I have responded to this tweets by the Democrats in the last couple of months for a simple reason - I could not let the American people to believe clear lies. I wanted to tell them the truth. For example, that horrendous lie by Steyer that my tax bill was a giveaway to the rich and to corporations. Such a big lie. The American people were actively lied into opposing a bill that is now helping them tremendously. I could not have allowed it to happen. I had to repeatedly and bluntly respond to it so it could not deceive anyone, and it did not. That is why I responded to the tweets. From now on, I guess I will be more selective with my responses, given that the facts have started talking on their own. And about foreign policy, I look forward to show Americans that I am very well-tempered, as I have during my past year in office, and have a clear agenda and plan for the relationships of America with other countries, both allies and enemies.

Carlson: Undoubtedly the liberal blogosphere already waiting in the wings with "very stable genius" quotes. Now, before you go, Mr. President, as the primaries approach, if you could tell the American people one thing tonight, what would it be?

Pence: My fellow Americans, first of all thank you for watching tonight. Politics can sometimes be boring, sometimes be exhausting, but for better or worse, they decide our lives. And, as such, we should look at the records of politicians before we vote for them. My Administration has accomplished more for you, for your prosperity then any other Administration in recent history - from taxes to opioids, from draining the swamp to infrastructure. I think we managed to provide strong and stable leadership which carries us to progress. That is what I will continue to do in a second term. The Democrats, on the other hand, are desperate. They can not believe that someone in DC can actually accomplish anything and are screaming and shouting and trying desperately to stop us. Well, I will not stop. I will never stop. And look who are their proposals. Steyer, Abrams and Gillibrand. This is the weakest field ever. Anyway, you can either choose in November to continue on this steady path to prosperity with a stable leadership or go back in 2016 and choose whoever the Democrat Party nominates. This is your choice, and thank you again for watching, good night.

Carlson: Mr. President, a pleasure to have you with us.

Pence: Likewise, Tucker.

Carlson: And that will be all for tonight. Tune in next time for the critical news stories that will continue to shape this race. Until then, I'm Tucker Carlson.

Levin: And I'm Mark Levin.

Jon Stewart announces withdrawal

"at this stage, I see no path to the no ination, and am thus suspending my campaign for President.

But who should be President? It's a question I've grappled with for some time. As you know, my issue has been the need for a federal Independent Commission Against Corruption. Someone to act as the be-all end-all watchdog for our politicians.

There is but one candidate who has joined my calls for one. Her progressive bone fides are beyond question, she supports a federal ICAC and a heightened minimum wage. She's also a fellow New Yorker, so you know she takes her pizza seriously.

I'm proud to endorse Senator Kirsten Gillibrand for President of the United States."

Got it.

Tammy Baldwin Speech in Des Moines

“Running in this campaign has been the highlight of my entire career in public service. Getting to travel this country, meeting people and hearing their stories will forever shape who I am, and will propel the fight for progress that this campaign has been all about. However, it’s become abundantly clear that this race is consolidating, and quickly, behind the top three. It’s with a heavy heart that I announce the suspension of my campaign. However, we cannot allow ourselves to be disheartened, as there is still a real chance for the same big, structural change that we’ve been fighting for. My friend and fellow Senator, Kirsten Gillibrand, represents this push for progress, and I fully endorse her run for President, and ask that you do too. I know this is hard, but we can all work together to enact the change that we want to see in this country, and I believe Kirsten is the best chance for us to get it.”

Got it.

Election Results 2020
with your hosts, Wolf Blitzer and John King

Blitzer: Good evening. I'm Wolf Blitzer.

King: And I'm John King. And we're here to bring you the first Election Results of this 2020 cycle, the Iowa Caucuses. The President is, of course, running virtually unopposed in the Republican caucuses despite numerous primary challengers at this time last year, and so our main focus tonight is on the Democratic race.

Blitzer: Indeed it is, John. We are now getting in the first results as the caucus centers begin to report. While the Iowa Democratic Party debated using an app to speed result reporting, the Baldwin campaign, in particular, condemned this as "an easy way to let the Russians decide our nominee." As a result, the votes will be counted and reported in the traditional fashion. Speaking of which, here are the first results, out of several more rural counties across the state.

Blitzer: Gillibrand currently leading by a single percentage point, but this margin is expected to widen as the night goes on according to most forecasts, including FiveThirtyEight, and our own.

King: Indeed, Wolf, but something I'd like to draw our viewers' attention to is how much support Governor Bullock is getting. While it's nowhere near enough for him to win, at this point, this was a state his campaign wrote off months ago, only for him to be running on the edge of viability tonight.

Blitzer: Definitely something to watch as the night goes on. We will be back with more results after the break.

Election Results 2020
with your hosts, Wolf Blitzer and John King

Blitzer: Good evening. I'm Wolf Blitzer.

King: And I'm John King. And we're back to bring you more results from the unfolding Iowa Democratic caucuses.

Blitzer: Indeed we, John. We are now getting in the first results from more urban areas, such as Cedar Falls and Davenport, and, as expected Senator Gillibrand's lead has grown significantly.

Blitzer: Gillibrand currently leading by eight percentage points, much more in line with how we expect her to finish tonight, but several university campuses, where she is expected to do particularly well, are still out. The most notable of these is Iowa State University, where her caucus captains have suggested she may get an outright majority of the final vote.

King: Indeed, Wolf, and this is not surprising, given Gillibrand's support in the state from both moderates like Amy Klobuchar, who are helping keep her viable where she's not outright ahead in rural areas, and progressives like Tammy Baldwin, who are, of course, helping her rack up immense margins in urban areas and on college campuses.

Blitzer: Definitely a trend to watch to see if it continues as the primaries rage on. We will be back with more results after the break.

Hey, so can I play as Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer? (D)

Uhh...sorry, but it's a bit late for signups (if you look directly above your post, you'll see the ongoing Iowa caucuses). I think GoTfan's planning a game in the near future, though.

Blitzer: Good evening. I'm Wolf Blitzer.

King: And I'm John King. And we're back to bring you more results from the unfolding Iowa Democratic caucuses.

Blitzer: Indeed we do, John. We are now getting in more results from across the state, including Iowa State University, and, as a result, we have a projection to make.

Blitzer: Gillibrand currently leading by a whopping seventeen percentage points, far ahead of how we expect her to finish tonight, but it is still uncertain how well she will do in what remains out, with the only large urban area not yet showing many results being Des Moines.

King: Indeed, Wolf, and this is not a surprising victory, given Gillibrand's support from I believe all three Democratic US Representatives from the state, as well as Tom Harkin, the long-serving former Senator, as well as all the time and money she spent here, 18 days since November 1 alone.

Blitzer: Definitely a hard-earned win, and so now the only question is how large Senator Gillibrand's margin of victory will be. We will be back with a better idea of that after the break.

Blitzer: Good evening. I'm Wolf Blitzer.

King: And I'm John King. And we're back to bring you yet more results from the unfolding Iowa Democratic caucuses, which we have projected Senator Kirsten Gillibrand will be the winner.

Blitzer: Indeed we have, John. We are now getting in more results from across the state, including Des Moines, and we are getting the following results overall.

Blitzer: Gillibrand currently leading by a solid twelve percentage points, hence why we have projected the race for her. Now, of course, we expect a little more decline as the rural counties come in, but overall we expect a sizable win for the Senator here tonight.

King: Indeed, Wolf, and this is not a surprising victory, given Gillibrand's support from I believe all three Democratic US Representatives from the state, as well as Tom Harkin, the long-serving former Senator, as well as all the time and money she spent here, 18 days since November 1 alone.

Blitzer: Definitely a hard-earned win, and so now the only question is how large Senator Gillibrand's margin of victory will be, as we have stated. We will be back with the final results after the break.

King: And I'm John King. And we're back to bring you the final results from the Iowa Democratic caucuses, in which we have projected Senator Kirsten Gillibrand will be the winner.

Blitzer: Indeed we have, John. We are now getting in the last results, mostly from rural counties, which should lessen the Senator's margin some, but not enough to put her at risk of losing, or even coming close to doing so.

Blitzer: Gillibrand currently leading by a solid seven percentage points in these final results, good for an even greater margin among state delegate equivalents.

King: Indeed, Wolf, and this is not surprising, as Gillibrand's team focused on both urban and rural areas, with Senator Klobuchar pulling her weight and then some in getting rural voters out for Gillibrand and preventing other candidates from running it up out there. This means Senator Gillibrand will receive 20 delegates, Ms. Abrams will receive 13, Mr. Steyer will receive 8, and Governor Bullock will receive zero, but Governor Bullock has already stated he is laser focused on a much better showing in New Hampshire next week.

Blitzer: And that will be all for tonight. Thank you so much for joining us as we took you through the results of the Iowa Democratic caucuses, and we hope you will join us again as the race continues. Until then, I'm Wolf Blitzer.

King: And I'm John King. And thanks for tuning in.

PHASE III, TURN I: THE FIRST PRIMARY

Senator Gillibrand's victory in Iowa has bolstered her already surging numbers heading into New Hampshire, but she faces two fiercely entrenched opponents in Tom Steyer and Steve Bullock, both of whom have made clear that New Hampshire is a key part of the respective strategies. Steyer has spent millions in ads in the Granite State, while Bullock has spent eight weeks on the ground since just November 1. Between them, the hold more than half a dozen endorsements from state officials, but that hasn't stopped the Senator from making a bid for the first-in-the-nation primary herself. Meanwhile, Ms. Abrams hasn't been seen in New Hampshire in months, leading many to believe she may be planning to risk a defeat there while bolstering her apparatus and campaigning in more diverse states where she can expect greater support from nonwhite voters. Only time will tell who of these four made the smartest move...

Current Polling (4-5 February 2020)

Democrats
Kirsten Gillibrand - 34%
Stacey Abrams - 28%
Tom Steyer - 25%
Steve Bullock - 9%
Others - 0%
Undecided - 4%

Republicans
Mike Pence - 84%

Other/Undecided - 16%

Libertarians
Austin Petersen - 89%
Other/Undecided - 11%

Schedules for February 4th through 11th will be due March 10. There will be no debate this turn.

Blitzer: Good evening. I'm Wolf Blitzer.

King: And I'm John King. And we're here to bring you the results of the New Hampshire Democratic primaries.

Blitzer: Indeed we are, John. We are now getting in the first results from the state, and there's a big surprise heading into tonight.

Blitzer: In a shocking twist, Governor Steve Bullock, who finished without even garnering delegates in Iowa, is currently in the lead in the precincts we have in. Most of them rural precincts where Bullock's moderate message was expected to do better, but still significantly higher than expected.

King: Indeed, Wolf, and this is of significant concern to the Steyer campaign, who just recently trumpeted a poll released by Politico that showed them well ahead in the Granite State. Noting, however, that this is 1% of the vote, and not necessarily indicative of how the night will play out.

Blitzer: Still, definitely a trend to watch to see if it continues as the night rages on. We will be back with more results after the break.

Election Results 2020
with your hosts, Wolf Blitzer and John King

Blitzer: Good evening. I'm Wolf Blitzer.

King: And I'm John King. And we're back to bring you more of the results of the New Hampshire Democratic primaries.

Blitzer: Indeed we are, John. We are now getting in significant results from mid-sized towns in the center and southeast of the state, and, as a result, Governor Bullock's lead has shrunk significantly.

Blitzer: Governor Bullock now effectively tied with Mr. Steyer for the lead in this state as Steyer runs it up in the more urban areas of the southeast while Bullock holds his own in the more rural areas elsewhere in the state.

King: Indeed, Wolf, and this is a significant relief to the Steyer people after those disastrous early returns, with Steyer's campaign manager tweeting out, "We're seeing now that Tom will turn this around, that he will win New Hampshire, and that he will continue in his quest to bring much-needed change to America. #Tom2020"

Blitzer: Still, definitely a trend to watch to see if it continues as the night rages on, or if Governor Bullock can regain his earlier lead. We will be back with more results after the break.

Blitzer: Governor Bullock now significantly behind Tom Steyer, who has taken the lead in this state for the first time tonight. As more votes come in, the question becomes, can Steyer keep this up?

King: Indeed, Wolf, and this is a significant relief to the Steyer people after those disastrous early returns, with Steyer's campaign manager voicing her relief on Twitter, as we discussed earlier.

Blitzer: Still, definitely a trend to watch to see if it continues as the night rages on, or if Governor Bullock can regain his earlier lead. We will be back with more results after the break.
