Personally, I feel that the benefits of space exploration will outweigh and pay off any negative side effects incurred by a larger deficit in the short term. In particular, the opportunity to discover new energy sources that could boost our economy at home and reduce the environmental impact of industrial commerce would be a significant boon for our nation in the long term.
