Ad for the Conservative Party

To be aired nationwide

Canada is at a crossroads.
(Close up on girl running through wheat field to a road crossing)

(Girl looks in both directions)

One direction, change.

The other, the same old ways of every other government.

One advocates for keeping their promises and doing politics differently, and the other advocates to keep the Ottawa machine running.

One has solid plans for reform, and the other has just ideas.

One advocates for a better nation, and the other advocates what ever the focus groups say.

And only one advocates for a future.

(Girl runs to the brighter side)

(Cut to black)

It's decision time.

OOC: I don't know if you knew this, but in Canada, no leader would ever call themselves a Social Conservative (and especially during an election campaign, and very especially so close to election day). It would seriously hurt the Tory's if their leader called himself a SoCon. Like really, I cannot overestimate just how much this would hurt Scheer if he actually did this. For some context, in 2004, various CPC candidates made SoCon statements and this seriously hurt the Party (and this was just candidates, not even the leader, if Harper had embraced Social Conservatism in 2004 it would have been a whole different ballgame). It was for this reason that Harper, despite being a very conservative person, decided to muzzle SoCons in the CPC Caucus after 2004. So yeah, safe to say this should backfire.

It isn't exactly good form to post on another player's campaign update to make commentary that could or could not sway the result. There's a reason why I don't do that.

Also, at least I took the time to make a speech. Tongue
