Lincoln Anti-Lobbying Act

I - Definition: This bill is written as to prevent regional legislators and officials from being influenced by or going into the business of lobbying. This will have no affect on nationally elected politicians.

II - Transparency: All meetings with lobbyists must be recorded by the assembly and will take place in an open area under supervision of multiple lawyers to prevent possible corruption. These lawyers must be independent and provided by an outside source.

III - Restrictions on meeting with lobbyists in office: Elected or appointed officials, including Governor, Cabinet Officials, and Assembly members must be approved by an independent commission to meet with lobbyists.

IV- Citizen’s clause: There will be no restriction on meetings with people not associated with a lobbying firm.

I sponsor this in order to get it into the floor, but I do want to amend some parts.

The governor is able to sponsor legislation.

2. If a candidate seeking office on a Lincoln election ballot is not a registered member of a regional political party, on the ballot their regional party will be listed as "Unaffiliated".
3. Lincoln election ballots are defined as ballots distributed by the Secretary of State of Lincoln or any other official administering a Lincoln regional election during an election period in a Voting Booth forum thread.

Section 2. Public promotion
1. The Secretary of State of Lincoln, or, in his absence or delegation, the Lieutenant Governor of Lincoln, will be tasked with maintaining a "Lincoln Regional Party Index" page which will be posted on the Atlas Fantasy Elections main page to raise awareness to the political parties that Lincolnites can join.
2. This page will be continually updated with the names of all regional political parties. If colors of each party, ideology and other features of the party are provided by the party's chairman in either the New Register Thread or in a message to the official in charge of the thread, those will be duly added.
3. This page will also contain directions of how to sign up to join or create a regional party (in the New Register Thread hosted by the Registrar General), and a link to the New Register Thread.
4. Other specifics of the page will be left for the decisions of the official in charge.

Section 2: Requirements

1. Descriptions must be submitted by the candidates themselves to the Lincoln Secretary of State.
 i. The Lincoln Secretary of State neither endorses nor verifies the truth or relevance of this description.
2. Candidates must submit their descriptions before the candidate declaration deadline.
3. If a candidate does not submit a description, the area bellow the candidate's name and party shall be blank.
4. Descriptions can be no longer than 250 words in length.
