Democrats win urban areas by around the same  margin as they did in 2016

Republicans win suburbs by around the same margin as they won suburbs in 1988

Rural areas vote similarly to how suburbs voted in 2016

They would win a ton of states that they didn't come close to this time. States like New Jersey, Illinois and Connecticut. Even possibly California since most of California's cities are actually giant Suburbs.
