Senator Owen Claims Senator Erickson
is being 'deliberately divisive'

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania ---

"I'm of the opinion that he's trying to deliberately wreck the budget negotiations between the two parties. I would like a chance to see what we can accomplish with bipartisanship for the good of the country, not the good of our poll numbers."

Owen is known to not mince words when it comes to his ideological bent and so it is interesting to see him come out in favor of compromise and negotiation. Owen was only recently re-elected and will not be up in 2014. The timing of his statement is, however, interesting to reporters who have watched him and know his habits.

"He's not one to usually call for a compromise and most figured he would enjoy the Republican backbiting, so this is surprising news," said one source close to him.
