GOP incumbents on the Club’s radar include Gilchrest and fellow anti-Iraq war Rep. Walter Jones (R-N.C.), as well as Reps. Jean Schmidt (R-Ohio) and John Doolittle (R-Calif.), who both appear headed for arduous primaries.

Godspeed, Club For Growth!

The GOP should hope the Club for Growth doesn't get its candidates through in Ramstad, LaHood and Pryce's seats. Safe Dem gains.

The NRCC should rejoice if the Club recruits a candidate in OH-15. 1>0

Why?  Anyone one the Club for Growth puts up would be quashed by Kilroy.  The NRCC is better off trying to field a moderate candidate in the same vein as Pryce.  Otherwise they have absolutely no shot of holding this seat.

1>0

There are currently no (!) Republicans running in OH-15. If the only candidates who eventually file are gadflys, the GOP would be better off with a well-funded extreme candidate than an unknown candidate who runs a non-existent campaign.

Well there are two declared candidates. Of course they are a former football player and a fundamentalist preacher.

And I too wish the CFG luck.

Has that preacher actually entered the race? This article says there are no GOP candidates.

Greg Lashutka, the aforementioned football player, said no.

Is anyone else amused that the CFG is more concerned with getting rid of Republicans who don't toe the party line 100% rather than Democrats who oppose their extremist economic views basically never?

DC Political Report says he's in. Not that it matters, a fundamentalist preacher is not the type of candidate the GOP needs in that district.

DCRP must be operating on speculation. That preacher hasn't officially entered the race. At this rate, he'll probably drop out before he gets in.
