It's worth observing that Republicans lean toward professions that don't need a whole lot of people. (Truck drivers, Pilots, Surgeons, Farmers, Finance etc.)

Democrats lean toward professions that cater to a larger audience. (Performance, arts, professors, flight attendants etc.)

One shocking thing for me is that donations from Pastors, Reverend, Minister and Priests lean democratic.


I think even among white pastors, ministers etc there is a big split where the elite of the Church are more democratic and the base more Republican, you see this effect elsewhere as well, union members being more Republican than union leaders.

Probably the only place where this is reversed is farms where the owners vote Republican but their Hispanic workers vote democratic although this year Trump likely gained with Hispanic farm labour as well.
