ND-AL has potential, especially if Heitkamp just straight-up walks away with reelection, but the issue is that both state benches are singularly horrible. Who do the NDDEMs even have left after 2016?

How about Heitkamp’s brother, Joel? Was a state senator, now a radio host.

Probably the strongest Democratic candidate on paper, IMO. Name rec, experience, and access to political capital.
