I hate to be the one to tell you this...but 91 (92 if you include the United Utah Party's gain) seats is a little excessive in this era of partisanship. If Trump sees things going that badly, he'll cancel the elections.

I bash the Republicans in my current TL, and I only gave them about 50 seats in 2018.

Also, I shudder for the concept of Liz Cheney as Minority Leader.


The GOP gained 63 seats in 2010. Trump is substantially more unpopular than Obama. I tried to target ancestrallynDemocratic areas, suburban areas, and close 2016 races.

And considering the massive generational and regional shifts we've been seeing, with Democrats netting young and suburban voters in droves, a realigning tidal wave isn't at all out of the question. Suburban districts like Sessions' and Culberson's are swinging fast.
