The Attorney General of Massachusetts has given the green light (saying they are constitutional in MA) for organizers to collect signatures for two ballot initiatives to see the 2024 ballot
1. To eliminate the need to pass the MCAS test in order to graduate High School 2. To overturn a 1994 BAN on Rent Controls
I’m sure both will get 75,000 signatures.
The rent control issue will win in a landslide with the out of control rents inside of 128 On the other hand MCAS is more tricky… the teachers unions likely support the requirement. I’d say far left and far right likely oppose it while moderates of both sides likely support it. I’ll say it holds up (barely)
